This place has always had a pretty solid craft & import selection, but over the past six months they've SERIOUSLY upped their game. Definitely on par with the big boys around Atlanta & Athens now! All the new stuff, super-limited releases, & old standbys are here. If you can't find it, just ask Drew. I'm pretty sure that dude has tried every beer in the store. This joint is definitely worth the drive.

ALSO, the bourbon selection is freakin' AMAZING!!!

If it's worth drinking, they have it and it will be fresh and cold. As opposed to some of the giants, I have never purchased spoiled beer here. Green's, Total Wines, BS, and Hop City are a crap shoot when it comes to getting fresh beer. One of those had the nerve to say "it happens". Not here. If it ages, they age it. If it doesn't age, they get rid of it.

My only wish would be that they had a beer guru like Drew there all the time. He always makes great recommendations to fit any style or budget. Also isn't afraid to call b.s. on overhyped beer, or give props to great beer that gets undeserved snobby fanboy hate.

I love this place.

This place is amazing for any person wanting to find craft/local beer or get into craft/local beers. The selection is the biggest I've seen in Northeast Georgia outside of Atlanta. We just started into craft beers and the employees (save a couple cashiers) are very knowledgeable and helpful in getting you to what you might like. Their prices are very fair as well. In addition to the craft beers, they have the regular stuff, liquors, and a nice wine selection. It's a little far for us to travel regularly (40 minutes away), but we make it a point to stop in whenever in the area.

Best place to buy beer in North GA, bar none. Great service, and a crazy wide selection of craft brew.

As one of the sticks residents, I was glad to find Hometown. Their selection of microbrews and some imports was great to see. Plenty of singles and bombers as well. I've found several beers there that I could find nowhere else in the immediate area.

Not quite as many limited or seasonal releases as I'd like, but they do manage to bring in a decent core.

Since they're minutes from my house, I'll definitely keep shopping there. When I have a bit more time, I'll swing down to Suwanee for a bit wider selection.

Strange to find this quite good liquor store way out in the exurbs of Atlanta- there aren't even that many people living way out here. Good, if incomplete selection. Quite a few very good Belgians and other imports including most of the Trappists and some choice brews like several Fantomes. Quite a few craft sixers and bombers as well. Lots of stuff, but don't look for the most recent thing or a really comprehensive selection like Green's has. Everything is refrigerated in the giant wall of coolers, which is nice, but some things have been in there awhile. I discovered a few older bottle of hard to find stuff that I was glad to see- but wondered if they were still good. No help to speak of in the beer department- just a cashier who hadn't a clue, but she was pleasant enough. Definitely worth stopping at if you are passing by, but I wouldn't say I'd drive all the way out here just for this place. Still, it would be heaven sent if I lived in the area.

Nice big store with wide isles and easy to find what you're looking for. Staff was helpful and it was easy to shop. All the beer was in coolers, very big singles selection with many Belgians on hand. Good collection of different brewers and styles represented at reasonable prices. The staff was very helpful. Asked about a keg price list and they didn't have anything, the clerk just said he could get me pretty much whatever I might be interested in (he has no idea)

If you are on the Northeast side of the city especially in the corridor of Suwanne to Gainesville this is a good stop for you to try.

Hometown Spirits leads the way in beer selection for suburban-Atlanta. All brewing styles and regions are well-represented, especially Belgian. There is a huge offering of singles for those that want easy opportunities to expand their sampling portfolio. The store is well laid out, neat and tidy, and has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The management and staff are more than hospitable and eager to assist their patrons. A broad wine selection is also available. The store is adjacent to a fine tavern; Hops and Grapes. You must visit Hometown Spirits!

I came in from the back way to get to Hometown Spirits. I traveled off I-85, took exit 126, then off SR211, took a left onto Union Church Road followed by another left onto Cash Rd with a final left onto Hog Mountain Road. I was looking at the address, saw a gas station on the right and after the road I had just been down, figured that was it. At the last moment before pulling into the station at the top of the hill I noticed the rather large and in charge Hometown Spirits.

I walked into the well lit and nicely laid out space and was very surprised to not find a hot beer section. I walked the diagnol aisles of mainly wines and liquors and then decided to look upon the back two walls of coolers. Low and behold all the beer is housed in the coolers. The coolers are also not ice cold, more like 45-50F. That mean the beer is actually cellared.

What a unique find in essentially the middle of nowhere. The selection was not the best in the state, but they had quite a few Belgians and quite a few craft beers, enough that I might drive back by to give it a whirl. Especially with a restaurant next door that has just gone under new management and with a decent enough beer offering.

Drive a few miles out the way and check out this place, you might just be surprised!

Soon after Georgia got rid of that pesky 6% law I started searching for a store that could satisfy my belgian fix. I found this one on BA and thought I'd check it out.
The first thing I noticed about this store was the layout. It's a pretty large store and has a very spacious "alcohol warehouse" feel to it. Wine and liquor filled the center of the store. Everything was impeccably organized and properly labeled. Wall to wall beer coolers (well over 100 ft. of them). Everything in its proper place, and everything refrigerated. Nice. Also, they keep late hours, (10-11pm) which adds to the convenience.
Pretty large selection of beer. Huge Belgian section (a few trappists), most of the Unibroue stuff, a fair selection of micros, along with selected beers from Germany and other various countries. Most of the beers were very reasonably priced, and the staff were suprizingly informative and helpful.

Nice store. Quality couldn't be better. The selection could get bigger, it always can... But it's a large store so there's plenty of room for it to grow. Besides, Georgia is new at this strong beer thing, give 'em a chance to build their inventory!

As a side note: This store also has a resturant off to one side of the building. I didn't have time to check it out (the exterior has a "tavern" look to it), but I'm sure they have a better than average beer selection on the menu, considering it's connected to a beer store :)
