batch 880. bottled 9-2-2011.

A: a very hazy, very pale straw yellow. head is bright white and frothy. good retention.

S: a barny aroma starts things off. black pepper. a little bit of wood. there is something else in there...something that reminds me of ham? that sounds crazy, but im something is triggering that in my brain.

T: oak. lemon zest. loads of barnyard funk. maybe a hint of vanilla? i may be pulling here as well, but there is some good complexity. finish has a little bit of of ginger flavor, otherwise very dry. very refreshing flavors.

M: a subtle, but present fizz. very light body.

D: super quaffable. crushable even. one of the better wits ive had. the barrel aging really stands out and adds a new dimension.

16oz can purchased from the fridge as part of a 4-pack for $11.99. The canned on date is very hard to read....looks like it says March something....figure that it is 2-3 months old.

Look: I poured the sediment and the result is a slightly hazy cloudy yellowish-orange color. There was a nice-looking head at first, but it went away quickly especially after I added the yeast. Nice steady stream of tiny bubbles rising up the glass. It looks like a nice-looking Witbier.

Smell: It smells good - it's acidic, lemony, and spicy with notes of clove, pepper, coriander, and orange peel. There's a bit of that funky farmhouse character too / band-aid notes.

Taste: It's very tasty and refreshing. Am I drinking a lemonade or a beer? Seriously though, it's a well-made beer that I am enjoying. Up front, it has a nice burst of acidity. Initially, I had thought that it was a bit watery but I don't still feel that way. The beer is so easy to drink. It finishes with a bit of spicy notes, with aromatic orange peel, a bit of bitterness from hops, and a dry, tannic finish.

Feel: The mouthfeel is nice with very gentle, soft carbonation from the tiny bubbles.

Overall: Compared to Bam Biere, I like this slightly more. It's very tasty, refreshing, easy to drink. A very nice warm weather and food beer.

Pours a hazy golden straw yellow with a minimal head that rings the glass. Limited lacing. Consistent carbonation. Spicy, tart, peppery. Definite wit taste. Clean, dry finish.

Yet another entry into "how have I not had this yet?" Cloudy golden pour with a white head but little retention. Belgian yeast, wheat, great orange and coriander, slight flowers, lemon, and slight apple in the taste, way more going on here than expected. This is because the smell is more yeast, citrus and coriander centric. Juicier but yeast still does well, wheat need to have a stronger grip though to convince me this is a new world take on a classic instead of something new altogether. Glad I finally tried this one, would be ideal in late spring

L- Cloudy mid gold pours with partial cap of white bubbles
S- Dry, gentle spice
T- Dry almost Guezey, kight, thin, light, rustic, tart.
F- Dry clean profile, little lingers. Almost a bit sherbetty on the palate.
O- Guezey, which is a whole austere style off in it's own realm. It's dryness rather smothers it's supposed Belgian Blonde spicy style.
Bought from Bacchanalia, Cambridge £7.49/ elegant art nouveau lable 375ml bottle - ouch.

I'm not even sure I'm entering this beer correctly..... This is in fact a wit beer with orange peel and other citrus flavors.... A little skunky for me and too fizzy.... Not bad

Cathy says, “worst thing to ever cross my lips…zero stars”. While billed as a witbier, it tastes like a sour gose.

It went straight down the drain.
