From bottle dated 11/25/2015.
Looks and smells great but the taste and feel is awful! Sour acid puke bitterness without any plume present. Very dry. The fruit might have dropped out by now but the hop presence is still overwhelming, so I can only emagine what this is like fresh. What's the IBU on this? Hard to finish. The bottom half of this bottle is so murky I can't even get light to go though it. I'm afraid to finish this. Best thing about this beer is it's label art.

Beautiful head with lingering lacing. Smell is nice although the plum doesn't really come out. The taste just barely has any plum present, with quite a bit of hop bitterness. The hops really detract from the beer for me; if you're going to lightly use fruit don't add a bunch of hops which end up masking it.

on tap at brewers republic down in colorado springs. those guys get some really cool beers in, and this is definitely one of them. a unique beer for these guys, who seem to be doing a lot more with fruit lately than they ever have before. there is a washed out light violet color to this, predictably hazy for the style and the brewery, and with about an inch of slowly fading head on top. it smells solid, the plum is another hard fruit to get flavor from though, as its sugars are easy to ferment right out. i get the tangy skins of the fruit here more than their sweet plump juicy flesh. i also get a slightly less mature, or else altogether different yeast complexion than i am used to from these guys. less of the dry farmy funk, more of the quick sweaty feet brett thing, definitely less going on there, and really what i love about jolly pumpkin the most is largely absent in this beer. still, the flavors are great, and the tartness of the fruit at times covers for a less distinct bacterial culture, although i do miss it a bit. i wouldnt hate more plum flavor in this either. maybe its a little new and will develop more with time, but from the yeast side of things, this is a step short of what these guys can do. i like the beer overall though, cool release for this time of year, and something unlike what anyone else is doing, which is par for the jolly pumpkin course. worth trying, especially if plums are your thing, but i was hoping for a little better here on the whole.

Quite a unique beer with a strong spruce tip and vegetal taste. Plums are there as well, white plums. Signature jolly pumpkin funk as always has a major contribution. Overall it's pretty light, airy and refreshing. Upon first surprise at the strong grassy, forest flavors I was put off but after sipping feels like it compliments the plums and funk notes. An orange, cantaloupe, melon flavor is pretty dominant in the taste, less so the smell.

On draft at Hunahpu's Day 2016.

Reddish amber with a moderate head, diminishing to a ring.

That classic, strong JP funk actually works in relative harmony with hoppy, orange flavors and aromas.

This is actually very crisp, light and refreshing, not too heavy or overwhelming.
