On-tap at Chapparal Safeway, Scottsdale, AZ - served in snifter glass:
Pours lemon-drop yellow - A thin white head becomes a fluffy island. Lacing sticks.
The smell is of oak/vanilla, grapefruit/citrus, funky, musty,
The taste is of sweet vanilla, bitter grapefruit. Sweet and sour, funky/tart with a restrained bitterness in the finish.
It is super creamy.
An awesome, creamy, hop-forward bittersweet, funky wild ale. Very enjoyable!

Foamed over as soon as I opened it. Poured it into a pint glass, hazy gold color. Strong head, decent retention, some latticing. Weak citrus smell, earthy and bright tart taste--the malts and earthyness definitely outweigh the tart. The aftertaste comes up quickly and quite bitter. I don't mind finishing this bottle, but I wish I could have found this last year.

Bottle pour to snifter, hazy deep golden approaching amber, some white head, little retention or lacing. Citrus and funk nose. Taste of Brett, earthy, mild sourness, light citrus, bitter finish. All around great taste but the aftertaste is a bit off. Average body and below average carbonation.

@ Sam's Quik
Thick hazy orange appearance with a dense layer of white froth on the surface. Smells of lemon and grapefruit, grassy greenness, apricot, and woody spice. Leathery JP funk and a touch of cereal. Bright hoppy notes along with a dry woody spice and flowery funk results in a tasty, yet somewhat harsh flavor. Citrus rind, juicy tartness, pineapple, flower petals, dusty leathery funk, and hay. Medium bodied, dry feel. Nicely funky - I wish the hop flavor was a bit deeper.

This is one proggy label. Pours a cloudy amber with one finger of soapy white head, streaky lace down the glass. Smell: a whiff of the JP house funk to start, then lemon-lime, straw, ripe apricot, floral perfume, vague tropical fruit. Taste: at the base there's the usual JP brett plus bugs.. it's not sour per se but there is a mild tartness on the back end. Atop that, lots of flavor...tangerine, guava, lime leaf, dried mango, cracker, a bit vinous, grassy and tart citrus in the finish. Light-medium bodied, low but creamy carbonation, drying finish. Very tasty soured IPA.

Short Review. I thought this one was pretty nice, it had that typical jolly pumpkin funk with just enough hoppy flavors and it had bitter and tart combo on the finish. It was slightly rough around the edges, but I liked it and I thought it was just a little unique for a JP beer. I would get it again.

Hooped up, hazy and slightly sour. Well, this collab is hopped up, for sure, but it feels muddled and the sour/funky-notes can't seem to break through the pounds and pounds of hops that have been sacrificed for this brew. Pours a murky (beyond hazy) orange color out of the bottle - looks like freshly squeeze tangerine juice; thin bubbly head reminds us it's actually a beer. Aroma is tangerine, orange, mandarin orange, peach and (barely) some green apple. I can't pick up much tart/sour flavor beneath the pile of hops; it's there, just a little, but can't quite surface and the funk is non-existent. Finishes with a juicy bitterness more akin to a fruit-forward IPA. I suppose that's how I would describe this beer - it doesn't resemble a dry-hopped sour but is more akin to a juicy IPA with a shade of tart. Pretty good beer but it's way hoppy and not what I expected.

Hazy saturated orange; drippy lacing, cirrus skim.
Hoppy aroma of sandalwood and dried papaya.
Taste is lightly tart and tropical, mango, lemon, brett, white wine, dry grassy bitter finish. Medium bodied with ample carbonation, balanced tartness and bitterness. Overall this was pleasant and enjoyable, could use a touch more amped up sour fruitiness.

Cloudy golden pour with a white head. Nice juicy citrus and apricot aroma. Taste has a really nice balance between fruit and funky sour flavors. Can taste some tropical fruit, orange juice, barnyard funk and light grass flavors.
