Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a semi-dark auburn red sort of color topped with a sheet of white foamy head that slid off at a mild pace to leave some running/sliding lace.
The aroma had a nice blend of herbal to bready and a dampened spice-like (white pepper, somewhat) and then a subtle funk slides in underneath for a further balancing sort of complexity.
The flavor leaned into a blend of herbal, bready, white pepper to funky sort of quality up front with some lemon rind starting to come out decently. Mild aftertaste of the herbal/bready/funky and lemon rind-like character.
The mouthfeel was almost medium bodied, as it seemed to sit just a touch under. A light carbonation spoke of this beer with good intentions, but having a sly stickiness, acceptable and not cloying.
Overall, pretty nice saison, well worth my time and money.

A: Poured into a pint glass to a deep red topped by a dense and rocky three finger light pink head that retains well and leaves decent lacing
S: Smells of smells a little chalky and tart with some floral notes and a little funk. Smells like an interesting beer
T: Taste is slightly tart and herbal with some notes of rosewater and hibiscus with some funk and a little chalkyness to it. the tartness is very light and slightly lemony. Swallow is more tartness and floral notes with some lingering funk and chalkyness
M: This beer is on the lighter side of the spectrum and it is dangerously close to watery. The carbonation on the beer is very effervescent and slightly prickly. The beer has a drying finish as well.
O: Overall this is a very nice beer with some excellent flavors and complexity. It drinks well and it is very refreshing. Definitely one to grab if you are a fan of Jolly Pumpkin.

Cloudy dark red leaning purple with a soft white, slightly pink, blanket.

Smell and aroma take on aspects of nicely tart cherry, raspberry, grape, oak, and a little sting of sourness with black pepper. Nearly acetic yet complex funk.

Frothy, soft, and semi-dry.

Poured from a bomber into a snifter. A cloudy pinkish gold color with a large head and great lacing. The smell is a bit vinaigrette-ish. The taste is tart, fruity, and refreshing. A nice summer beer!

Look is reddish/copper with thin head that dissipates to a ring that leaves a nice lace.

Smell is tart cherries, and that dominates the taste as well. It's not overly sour, and would probably be a good entry point for someone trying sours for the first time.

Feel is pretty full bodied for a saison. Oily feel that had a long finish that turns fairly sweet once the tartness has settled on your palate.

Overall, a tasty beer from JP that is not terribly complex, but enjoyable.
