750ml bottle thanks to Eric. Cloudy orange/brown pour, smallish beige airy head. Cherries as expected in the aroma, along with some candy elements, and a bit of wood. Taste adds some vanilla to the cherries, as well as additional barrel notes, a bit dusty and musty.

Appearance: Pours a hazy burnt orange with a one finger head that recedes quickly to a film; spotty lacing
Smell: Tart plum and cherry tones with oak and leather aromatics
Taste: There is a hint of sweet cherry, up front, that lingers underneath as the tart plum and cherry flavors emerge; very oaky, throughout, with some leather and earthy funk in the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation; somewhat puckery
Oveall: Excellent use of oak here with a nice sour fruit and funky character

Poured the color of strong tea and opaque, topped by a manilla head that dissipated quickly.
The aroma was cherries, no apologies, cherries. There was a touch of funk in there, but mostly it was cherries.
The taste followed. Cherries are prominent and the ale is wrapped up in it. The tart definitely cut through though, making it very drinkable.
The feel was good, very nice mouth feel.
OA, not something Iād want every day, but really tasty when I do pop one open.

Pours a medium red color with a minimal head that disappears quickly. Slight aroma of cherries. Taste is sour with a hint of tart cherries. Good mouth feel.

A mildly murkt reddish brown with a thin, beige head that falls off to a ring leaving little lacing. The nose is immediately earthy, leathery with a touch of vinegar and a moderate amount of funk, some sherry, honey and sour cherries. The leather Brett notes that the best Flemish reds have is present and is quite wonderfully expressed. The palate opens tart, earthy, mildly funky with lovely sour cherries, cherry pits, leather, soft oak and light sherry. The skill to make a beer taste this old while still relatively fresh is impressive. Initially a little thin and watery, once the carbonation dies down and the acidity switches to a more fruity acidity rather than a mineraly carbonic acidity, the feel improves. A touch of cola on the finish, along with the sour cherries. Lovely stuff.
