Pours a bright orange color with a white head and some lace.
The smell is herbal, tea like and has some citrus. The taste has green tea, jasmine, pine, and a little citrus. Light and tangy from hops. Faint cracker like malt character. The beer is very light but well carbonated. Overall, this is good on the golf course or during other hot weather activities. Light IPA or fresh hop pale, its pretty good for what it is.

Before he headed his snowbird self south for the winter, my (usually) local, in-person trader, tone77, dropped this bottle off for me (along with other gems).

From the bottle: "A triumphant trio of west coast-style hops make for a supremely balanced go-to brew. This happily hoppy brew is not your everyday beer. It'll be your every day beer. Get it?"; "A Family Brewery Since 1888".

All day, Every Day, yo! That's me & IPAs. Nothing happens until I Pop! the cap, though. Having done so, I did a gentle pour that produced three fingers of dense, rocky, tawny head with great retention that left loads of sticky lacing in its wake. Color was solidly Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9) with NE-quality clarity. Nose was both piney and citrusy and my mouth began to water. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was more towards tropical fruit (mangoes & papayas), underlain by pine & grapefruit & orange, but not as intense as on the nose. Every day because of its relatively low ABV, I suppose, but not sustaining for me. Finish was semi-dry, but I would have wanted greater intensity from an AIPA.

Pours a hazy golden color with a moderate fluffy egg shell colored head. A bit darker than most "session" IPAs.

The aroma is of a nice citrus hop, juicy. Not super strong. Good.

The taste is of a light grapefruit rind hop and grassy hop. A bit chalky. Some lemon. The malt is slightly bready. Kind of a weak finish.

The feel is moderate with airy carbonation. Lightly bitter on the palate and finishes dry and a touch chalky.

Nice aroma but the beer fizzles after that. The hop profile is nice but needs more flavor. The feel is rather dry, would like it more crisp.

12 oz bottle pours with an exceptionally creamy and durable head. Citrus/herbal/floral hops notes make for a somewhat odd aroma. The flavor seems better integrated. Mild bitterness for style. Excellent lively but soft feel.

A triumphant trio of west coast-style hops make for a supremely balanced go to brew. This happily hoppy brew is not your everyday beer. It'll be your every day beer. Get it?" Brewed in the style of an American India Pale Ale. Available within the 12 Beers of Summer variety pack in 12 oz. bottles.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle to a pint glass. Served above 54º Fahrenheit.

(Appearance) Pours a crisp, frothy head of a pale straw white color over a medium amber body with clouds of speckled haze in suspension. Retention is good and lacing is light and speckled. 4

(Smell) West coast hop notes of tart grapefruit, pithy citrus and tropical fruit explode in the aroma, and pale malts, a touch of lightly toasted caramel syrup and a fruity, earthy yeast profile fall as secondary. The hop bitterness is mild, the potency is medium. 4

(Taste) The hop bitterness comes out in front, with lighter grapefruit and herbal notes and a medium bitterness atop a fairly light pale malt body with a bit of citrus zest on the finish. Not quite as bright and flavorful as I had anticipated from the aroma on both hops and malt character, but still quite satisfactory. A pleasantly bitter and easy drinking IPA. 3.5

(Mouthfeel) The texture is slick, lightly chewy, faintly dry. Carbonation generates a soft crispness and light frothiness. The body is shy of medium for the style, medium overall. Balance is slightly bitter over sweet. The alcohol presence is low, off characters are minimal. 3.75

(Overall) A highly drinkable and decently flavored American IPA with a slightly lighter body than the thick of the competition, which makes it a great candidate for session ales and easier drinking American IPAs. Unfortunately, it's packed in a variety pack as pairs, so there isn't much of it to go around, but this is probably the best beer I've yet tried from the Matt Brewing's Saranac beers line and certainly worth a try if you can get a 12 oz. single. 3.75

From twelve ounce bottle in the 2014 Summer selection case.

Aroma is strong citrus hops.
Pours a hazy orange yellow body with very large foamy white head. Head lasted a fairing amount with spotty lacing of the glass. Taste is crisp citrus, not as bitter as I expected.clean finish. A perfect summer choice!

Bottle as part of the Saranac summer pack.

Pours a golden orange, with a one inch head, and a little bit of lacing.

Smells like pine, sweet malt, and grass.

Just an honestly pretty basic IPA, nothing to see here really. Some aspirin like bitterness, a bit of pine, some sweet malt. Nothing terribly complex or interesting.

Light bodied, crisp mouthfeel, very drinkable, but slightly watery.

Booooring. Next.
