From the bottle, it pours an orangey amber with a small head, quickly dissipating. Pumpkin pie spice in the nose. A bit of pumpkin and spice in the mouth. Nice and pleasant.

Saranac Pumpkin Ale 5.1% ABV. 15 IBU - source was website
Look: Light brown and orangish, small white head that dissapates to nothing.
Smell : from bottle - sweet spices: ginger, cinnamon, clove, malts, from glass mostly pumpkin
Taste: Drank from a Brooklyn Brewery glass. Pumpkin, cinnamon, clove, ginger, malty, bread, grassy hops and a slighty spicey aftertaste.
Overall: This is a slightly sweet, slightly spicey pumpkin ale. I used to buy their sampler packs in college and drink these thinking that this was craft beer. In reality it was not merely as good as good craft beer. My girlfriend had me get some for her, but I turned out liking it. This is not bad coming from this company. There is some pretty good flavor, but it is not too sweet. Hats off

This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a moderately hazy burnt orange to brown color with a light rimmed white foamy head. Lacing slightly speckled and slid into the beer.
The smell starts off with a combination of spices of ginger, allspice, cinnamon and then the pumpkin. Light crustiness of bread slides in underneath.
The taste was fairly sweet letting the spices roll a bit off to the side. I don't mind that the taste is different than the aroma. There's a lingering pumpkin to doughy aftertaste with a watery finish.
The mouthfeel was light bodied with a crisp sessionable feel swarming about my tongue. Carbonation hits fine and dandy to me letting the spices take aim at my tongue, yup there's that harshness, not bad, I'd say, not bad.
Overall, do I dare say session pumpkin ale? Well, gee, that's all Saranac/Matt has to do, just rename this to be "Session Pumpkin ale" and pat yourselves on the back so that all of those who rate to style will most likely up its numbers. As for now, well, I don't mind it for me. I'll probably drink this more in a session than other pumpkin ales.

Look: Usual pumpkin color; Not much head or lacing to speak of.

Smell: typical subdued mix of sweet fruit and spices.

Taste: malt centric; no hops or bitterness: Mildly sweet

Feel: On the lighter-thin side

Overall: Pretty middle of the road offering in this style. Nothing overly offensive or memorable. Pretty safe for novice or non-beer drinkers or anyone who want to have a little fun with a seasonal without feeling overwhelmed or intimidated.

It looks decent when poured. I think that is its best attribute...

Smell is of a cheap, highly processed beer with spices and pumpkin.

Taste is of a cheap, light american beer...with spices and pumpkin.

Feel ls watery and leaves no lingering taste at all.

Overall, it is not great beer- it's cheap beer with spices in it.

O.k. beer, better than I thought it would be.
A real kick of spice in the first few sips (which I wasn't too fond of) BUT, then it smoothed out and the rest of the bottle was pretty nice.
Tried it in a combo six pack - no hurry to buy again.
