"In the spirit of the ancient winter festivities Saranac Wassail (pronounced 'Woss-el' it means 'be well') is a very special beer to toast the holiday season. At the heart of this beer is a classic English Ale brewed with English malts and Fuggles hops. Reminiscent of your favorite holiday traditions. Look for hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, orange and allspice. Wassail!"

A: Poured into a Spirit Haus pint glass. Body is crystal clear coppery-amber with a small off-white head that settles quickly. Decent amount of bubbles rise. No lacing whatsoever.
S: It's faint, but what's there is gingerbread cookies -- I'm guessing I'm smelling the cinnamon and nutmeg, maybe some allspice.
T: Kinda like the nose -- gingerbread cookie spices, a bit of biscuity malt and something fruity (I wrote 'cherries?' but that didn't quite seem right). Finishes with a metallic taste that lingers.
M: Surprisingly it has a good, spritzy feel to it that would normally result in a higher score in this category, but in weight and body, it's lacking -- I like a little more heft in my winter brews and this one was even a bit thin or watery.
D: OK. Some flavor and light in heft means it goes down pretty fast. But not interesting enough to make me want another.
