I know. I know. I don’t care what you say - this beer is awesome.
Look: it’s in a can. Consumed from the can. Warmish on a hot summer day. And it’s awesome. I don’t have a clue what it looks like - I drink it from the can. I do know that it is light and refreshing, low enough in alcohol to drink more than one, got a nice bitterness to it to help balance out some of that sweet fruitiness. I’ll take this any day over their summer haze which has more alcohol, less bitterness and less body and flavors and stuff going on.
Yes, I’m a beer snob, too. But come on - I get the feeling they’re not asking you to drink this from a chalice. It’s an awesome summer beer. Inexpensive to boot. I’m keeping stocked up!
Hell, this is inspiring me to go and visit Fx Matt next week! I love this beer!

Poured into small chalice: color is straw gold, not hazy at all (though marketed on the website description as such), head is bright white with fine to small bubbles. Some lacing on the glass.
Smell is quite fruity, guava/mango/passion fruit like, reminds of magic hat #9 in some ways.
Taste is definitely more ipa like with a more extract like fruitiness along side tropical notes from the hops.
Mouthfeel starts more bitter and sharp, then softens with warmth.
Overall - a fruited ipa with bit heavy hand on the 'natural flavor' additions.

Best by date of September 30, 2018.
This was poured into a becher pint glass.
The appearance was a glossy burnt yellow to almost bronzed orange. Quickly dissipating finger's worth of white foamy head left some lace - mostly messy.
The aroma had a crisp sweet orange pulpy to zesty punch rolling into some dried bitter to sweet ruby red grapefruit pulpy sweet tones. Noticeable bitter rind.
The flavor had a crisp bittersweet blend of orange and ruby red grapefruit pulp and rind mixing finely together. Mild aftertaste of sweet orange and ruby red grapefruit.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Mild bitter harshness slaps dryly on my tongue. Decent carbonation and a sturdy ABV lead to a crisp, dry and bitter citrusy rind-like finish.
Overall, it's not a bad offering by Saranac. Definitely an American IPA with the longer bitterness in this.

Pours a golden yellow. Aroma's of mango, peach, lemon, and cracker. The flavors has tropical and citrus notes: pineapple and mango primarily. There is a low bread note in the background, earthy spice, and some lemon. Medium bodied. This is a good brew, definitely not an IPA.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Clear light golden pour with 1.5 fingers of fizzy white head. Nice ring of lacing.
S: Tropical fruits... sweets and bubblegum. Light citrus and pineapple. Best part of the beer.
T/F: Light crackery grains and pale malts. Solid bitterness. Tropical hop flavors... more bubblegum and guava. Pineapple and a bit of orange rind. Decent flavor... thought there'd be more from the aroma. Light bodied... with more tropical fruit at the finish.
O: A decent tropical themed IPA. Light enough to be sessionable... good bitterness. Nothing special, but easy drinking.

i enjoyed this a lot, one of my favorites from the box this year, and even though it has an almost fruited sort of artificiality to it, i like it. its definitely summer, and its cool to see saranac taking their ipa types up a notch, not usually their strong suit in my experience. i could swear this actually has fruit in it, passion fruit and mango and papaya and guava, definitely fruit salad-esque and decidedly tropical, but almost like an extract or something, hard to believe this is all from hops, can it possibly be? it makes the beer kind of cheap seeming to me, but i have no idea whats actually in here, so its hard to be too tough of a judge. the flavors are nice, its hard to argue that, a little sweet, but there is a solid hop bitterness to balance that element out a little, and the fruitiness in the hops is awesome, i wish i knew which varietals were in this. i get sweet orange and lemon too, and a nice rush of carbonation and finishing dryness that help it stay light to drink. its cool that there are some other grains in here, it has a soft body and some nice structure for the hops from them, oats and wheat i think, nice addition! overall not at all a bad ipa, especially for those who like them fruity. very new school for saranac, best when ice cold, does anyone know if they actually put fruit in here or not? there is no mention of it, but this taste...
