Interesting Pils, some of it a bit high, some of it a bit low...

What surprised me most about this beer was it's smell - a unique blend of oranges, tangerines, grapefruit, and even some honey - truly a delicious odor to the nose. But the rest of it was less than stellar - mouthfeel was astringent but crisp and the taste was dry, much less than I would have expected given what met my nose. It's a decent pils, definitely different from a go-and-try-it-if-you-never-had perspective, just for it's nose...

12 oz bottle. Best before Dec 31, 2018. Part of the German Roots mixed pack.

Pale gold and bright, showing excellent clarity. Capped with a creamy white head that leaves patchy lacing behind on the glass and has great retention.

Nose is potent with apricot and freshly cut grass. The apricot fruitiness from the hops carries over into the flavor, and it's a little odd for a German-style pilsner, but it's not unpleasant. Sweetness from the malt combines with a firm hop bitterness in the finish. Medium-light bodied.

Not the most accurate representation of a German-style pilsner, but it's tasty enough in its own right. Clean, refreshing and unique. I wouldn't mind having another.

Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is straw, pretty clear, head is bright white with fine bubbles, really good lacing after presenting 1.5 inches deep.

Smell is lightly malty, then grassy and herbal hops.

Taste is similar with light pilsener like malt, light biscuit and bread, some grass.

Mouthfeel is a bit sweet, a bit more bitter crispness than well attenuated carbonated presence

Overall a great looking pilsener with pleasant and lightly sweet aroma, flavor and presence.

Got 4 in the German Roots 12 pack- which is an awesome selection to check out.
Poured into a tall Pils glass -
-Rich standard golden color, perfect clarity , brilliant white head .
-Aromas are all there and very clean, refreshing traditional Pils.
-Crisp taste ,and without the dough ball taste some pilsners have. Hopped brilliantly, and a nice mineral, clean finish.
-Mid body perfection with that edgy carbonation I love .
- A good Pilsner is always worth a 4, and this is better than good.

Pours a clear light yellow color with plenty of carbonation and bright white head, smell is slightly hoppy, taste is slightly hoppy and sweet with a mild finish, feel is average, overall a little hopper for the style but still a good brew
