Pours a hazy pale yellow. Thick foam. Citrus aroma. Slightly sweet ruby red grapefruit body. Nice flavor. Light bitter finish. Nice crisp grapefruit beer. Great for a hot summer day.

Purchased as part of a 12-beer variety pack (12oz cans) from Publix for $15.99. Poured into a tulip glass.
L - Goldenrod with a slight haze. Topped-off with a pale white two-finger frothy head. Head dissipates rather quickly. Pretty good lacing.
S - Strong & sweet grapefruit. Candied orange peel. Hinting at white bread & cracker.
T - Pleasant & light grapefruit-forward honey & biscuit notes. Tangy tangerine & grapefruit peel on the rear. Well-balanced.
F - Light-medium in body, with mild carbonation. A bit watery. Poundable. Clean.
O - I like this brew. It does what it says it's going to do, with no abstraction. It gets the job done as a refreshing grapefruit beer for the summer, and does nothing else. It's a no-nonsense, extremely refreshing, super drinkable grapefruit ale for the summer. I'm glad it came in a variety pack, as six of these might be a bit boring for me - but if I'm going fishing, this would be a great change-of-pace. It's definitely worth a try.

12 oz can served in a goblet.
Appearance. Hazy amber colored body with aslightly reddish tint and a decent white head.
This smells and tastes like I would expect from a golden ale with fresh red grapefruit juice. It's only mildly bitter with little sense of grapefruit rind that could hide the much sweeter juice.

12 oz bottle poured into a willi becher. Pours a light yellow with a slight pinkish tint, although I could be imagining that. Aroma and flavor feature tart wheat and grapefruit with a hint of sweetness. Mouthfeel is smooth and full. Overall a solid fruited wheat beer.

As of 7/17/21, this is a classified as Red/Amber Ale. There is nothing red about this beer (even the label is pink).
Ruby Red pours hazy orange (go figure) with a small head that does not last. The nose and tongue are dominated by acetic acid. Not exactly ideal, but it's acceptable when I want a low-effort sour (usually after a lackluster IPA). Tart tart tart. Grapefruit is also there. It finishes dry and a bit bitter in addition to the pervasive sourness. I had three of these as part of Saranac's summer pack and I prefer their blueberry ale in pretty much every category.

Pours hazy, orange-gold in color with one quarter inch head. Taste is red grapefruit, vanilla, and wheat. Medium bodied, slightly bitter with moderate carbonation. Great if you like grapefruit. Solid fruit beer otherwise. Not really a red ale, more of a wheat beer.

Pours golden yellow with a slight orange tint. Hazy. 1/2 inch white head, which dissipates. No lace.
Aroma is citrusy, piney, sweet.
Taste is tart grapefruit, caramel malt, a touch of wheat.
Thin to medium bodied, light carbonation. Dry, bitter finish.
A new entry from Saranac. Ok, but not the best.

Now this one they did good with. Rich body, grapefruit and grains blend richly into a full bodied ale. Not sure amber/red ale is appropriate style. Says grapefruit wheat ale on the label. And that is exactly what it really is.
