On tap at the Blue Tusk.Very fresh but I didn't enjoy it or finish even half my pint. The bitterness is in your face, its not so drinkable. Very vegetable taste. Above average mouthfeel of this salad. lacey and one eighth of an inch head.Balance would be an improvement.

i had the highest of hopes for this. it pours a clear and fizzy light golden color with a short and fading white head. it smells like the same yeast in most saranac ales, a little fruity, a lot bready, and it crowds out most of the hops, which are oily and citrusy, but dont seem to be as abundant as i had hoped. the taste confirms the noses worst fears, doughy yeast is more prominent than fresh hops. in fact, outside of a bitter note on the finish, i dont get very much hops at all in this seemingly pilsner styled brew. entirely absent is that juicy bitter hop essence i am used to in wet hop beers. its december now, so maybe mine sat on the shelf a little too long, ill chalk it up to that (i hope). good feel though, lots of tiny bubbles, a light body for what it is, and a well hidden alcohol potency. i admire saranac for finally stepping up and making a few experimental craft brews, but this one fell short of the mark for me. as an everyday pale ale it isnt bad, but it didnt feel like a wet hop ipa to me at all im sad to say.

I got this on the cheap so got a few bottles yesterday.Poured into an imperial nonic a clear burnt orange and brass fusion with a 1/2 finger white head atop that left a broken ring as it settled.Alot of biscuit malt in the nose along with mainly leafy hops, the hops are not big but they have a presence. The malty notes are big as well as the sweetness on the palate, caramel and sweet dough with some sugary sweetness over top of a leafy mild fruity hoppiness.Well like alot of the style it's a little to sweet and malt driven but is a pretty good beer,I just want more hops!

On-tap 1/24/2012 at Doherty’s East Ave Irish Pub, in Pawtucket, RI served in a tulip glass.

A: The beer is a deep amber color with a short off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains citrus, floral hops and caramelized malts.

T: The taste starts with a hearty malt character followed by sweet flavors of caramel and citrus. Then a strong but not over-powering hops presence comes in providing a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet and slightly hoppy.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, good kick, good representation of style, this is a decent IPA to drink for a long time.

Bomber bottle without any freshness/bottling date info.

Pours hazed medium golden amber. Off white head, and leaving decent looking fine fileds of lacing.

Fairly tame lemony, citric hop nose.

More lemon, more generic citric notes, resiny hopped up brew.

Flavorful and satisfying. Hops continue to bite long into the finish. Sweet malt on the tip of the tongue.

Well done and for the price its a bargian. Good everyday, fresh tasting IPA

Appearance: pours a crystal clear yellowish orange color with a 2" head that lasts a bit. Some moderate lace develops.

Smell: light caramel and faint hop aroma comes through to the nose.

Taste: caramel, pears, some orange citrus, and mild grassy and slightly oily bitterness.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer. Crisp throughout with some light dryness arriving late. Aftertaste is short lived and this beer has a nice refreshing quality to it.

Overall: this beer was easy to drink and enjoyable. Flavors are a bit muted but they work.

On draft at The Lark, East Northport, NY.

Poured a pale copper hue with a half finger foamy white head. There was decent retention and lacing.

The smell featured clean herbal hops and a light doughy malt.

The taste consisted of soft biscuity pale malts below an active grassy and herbal hop spice. A bit flat and a one dimensional use of hops.

The mouthfeel was light considering the ABV.

Overall a pedestrian IPA. I sincerely expected more.

A - A nice looking IPA clear amber brown light with a very nice 1/2 inch of sticky white head that follows throughout the glass. Lovely

S - Pretty hop forward herbal but smooth with citrus tones and gram cracker malts.

T - I enjoyed this wet hop IPA it does have a bit of danker hops but it taste relatively clean. Very smooth yet clings to the palate nicely.

M - Smooth with a light to medium drink ability.

Overall a very nice wet hop IPA pretty much in line with the 7.0% margin. I polished the bomber off easily.

Pours a bright gold with a huge, white head into my glass. A little bland color-wise but the large head could debunk it.

Fresh dose of hops in the nose with a lot of pine tar. A bit of malt background to boot. Nothing spectacular.

Surprisingly light and crisp with a balanced dose of piney hops and buttery malt to boot. You don't get pounded over the head with hops, which I appreciate.

Mouthfeel consists of buttery malt and piney hops in a diminished state. Finishes surprisingly clean.

A decent, balanced IPA from Saranac. They've really stepped up their game as far as bombers are concerned.

In a pint glass this beer was orange colored with a minimal head. There was no lace. A more aggressive pour resulted in a bit of head, but still no lace.

Citrus aroma mostly. Some herbal hops. Sweet malt.

Lots of grapefruit in the taste. Some herbal notes. Caramel malt.

A refreshing beer, good on a summer day.

Not as good as other beers of the same ilk.

A-Clear amber, not much head and what is there doesn't last long at all.

S-Bland for an DIPA, some citrus and earthy tones.

T-Earthy, resinous, pine, solid bitterness and some citrus.

M-Light, smooth but not much carbonation.

O-Saranac completely missed the mark here. If this was a regular IPA it would be decent but as a DIPA this is just off target. So far the only wet hop IPA I haven't cared for too much. Honestly wont seek it out again.

EDIT-Forgot to say serving type was growler.

A: Poured from the bomber into a Harpoon pint glass. Body is clear dark golden with a small whitish head. Good amount of rising bubbles fortify that head. Decent amount of splotchy lace left behind.

S: Not much going on in the nose at all, which is surprising (in my experience) for a fresh hop IPA. I get some cereal grains and a touch of florally hops.

T: Sweet, fruity malt foundation with some cereal grains and bread dough, followed by a touch of soapiness and decent grassy & florally hops. Finishes with a bit of lingering hop bitterness - think a touch of lemon or lemongrass.

M: Call it a tad lighter than medium in heft. Carbonation is nice and creamy, justifying a bump up here to a 4. Slightly oily impression in the aftertaste, however - but not enough to be off-putting or detract from the overall feel.

O: Better than I remembered from the growler last year. Still, a little too fruity (that's gotta be the house ale yeast, amirite?) and not quite hop-juicy or hop-bitter enough for me. Drinks easy for a 7% ABV beer though.

Growler from Marcy Beverage. Pours a translucent amber color with a half inch of head. Some lacing. Aroma is grassy and citrusy. Biscuity with a good amount of hops. A bit spicy. Taste is floral hops. Some bitterness. Fair amount of malt flavor with a flowery finish. Good amount of carbonation with a light mouthfeel. Pretty easy to drink Imperial Ipa. This is one of Saranac's hoppiest offerings for sure. Pretty decent floral hop flavor with a decent amount of bitterness. Wouldn't mind having it again although it is a one shot deal. Overall, worth a try.

22 oz bottle poured into a nonic.

Pours a hazy orange color with a finger of fizzy foam that dissipates quickly without lacing. Aroma has a grassy hoppiness to it with a substantial crystal malt sweetness in the nose also.

First sip is a rush of grassy/bitter flavor with a sharp bite that fades quickly. A bit of lingering harsh bitter flavor. You can really taste the green hop / vegetal qualities of this beer, but the beer doesn't come together well as a whole. The bitter finish is too harsh and the hop flavors are too biting, all while the sweetness never really asserts itself to meld things together.

I'll pass on this in the future.
