Poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a mild looking pale grapefruit pale skin color with a finger's worth of sliding foamy to bubbly head. Not much lace, seemed somewhat vacant for the most part.
The aroma had some grapefruit peel with some sweet grassy hops. Light Belgian breadiness and a sweet clove popped in over some white bread and black pepper.
The flavor was moderately sweet through the prior mentioned notes and seemed to have the clove and black pepper a bit muted here. Mild aftertaste of the grassy hops and grapefruit peel and a touch of black pepper in there.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt on par. A bit of sting/harshness along my tongue seeming to come from the black pepper/clove blend. Brisk grapefruit in the finish.
Overall, white IPA? Yes, I can see it. But how much did I truly like this beer? Seemed decent enough, but maybe one I might have to warm up to more so over time.

01/31/13:
Grapefruit nose; Citrus Fruit and Pine are strong. Cloudy Yellow; fizzy.Taste has a strong bite; but flavor is less than expected from the aroma. Not bad. Last of the Amy and Brian, beer of the month gift.

Appearance: cloudy orange with decent foam
Smell: wheat, and citrus not overally aromantic
Taste: apricot, wheat, malt, hop
Mouthfeel: Medium carb, appropriate for the style
Overall: a decent wheat/pale ale - defactor hef with a nice hop bite. At TJs it came in a 12 pack for $10.99 so I really only got this cuz it came at a great price. I really liked this as a hef because it wasn't overly malty but had all the qualities of a hef with a nice bitter finish
