Just a great beer and a classic IPA style.
A: Nice off-white head, a bit cloudy
S: Hoppy, citrusy, spicy with a touch of malt
T: Really full-bodied, but not to a fault. The spice and hops are strong. Classic ipa bitterness
M: Beautiful smoothness. Well-rounded and crisp
O: Extremely satisfied with this beer. Looking forward to many more, as these are available in a limited release 12pak for only ten bucks down the street from me! Cheers!

A: Light gold, soft, much like a wheat beer. Light head which leaves a pleasant white trace. Pleasant bubbles complement nicely.

S: Wheat, bready smell soon overtaken by powerful citrus aroma. Very attractive.

T: Easy, flavorful citrus with a tasty bit of hop sting. Delicious hoppy goodness on the back end

M: Tingly all over from the hops, with a tiny but noticeable bit of alcohol burn on the tongue.

O: Absolutely delicious combo for witbeer and IPA lovers. Saranac has always been "ok" for me, but this one really competes. You hear that, Matt? Keep it!

Enjoyed in a pint glass

A: pours a completely hazed honey color with two fingers of fine pure white head that lingers nicely, there is a ton of carbonation bubbles present, leaves spotty lacing on the glass
S: wow, the scent here is simply divine, grapefruit and citrus hops, with a slight underlying scent of banana peels
T: so it begins with the nice hops that i was looking for from the scent, not as extreme on the grapefruit end but definitly citrusy and nice, then kicks in the wheat character, bready and funky middle to end, really smooths it out
M: slight on the carbonation, smooth in the middle, leaves an interesting feel on the palate, dry from the IPA breeding but silky from the wheat character, nice
O: IMO this is the best beer saranac has made to date, that is taking into account the fact that i have enjoyed 99% of their other beers, i really think that they just nailed it on this one, really awesome through and through

came in a Saranac Summer 12pk along with the new session and kolsh (they were good, but nothing special) this on the other hand was excellent and very fresh

A: i didnt expect much after tasking the session so i poured into a shaker pint, sexy and cloudy with an effervescent sticky head that wouldnt quit. i regretted not putting it in a tulip. lace that would make a grown man blush. looked like it came right of the bottling line

S: citrusy and piney, more aggressive than the whites i've had. perhaps the freshness coming through

T: wasnt expecting such a kick on the ass-end, but well rounded up front and highly floral and great bitterness, like biting into fresh arugula... i dont know if arugula has ever been used to describe the taste of beer before but im sticking with it. that post sip dryness speaks to the freshness of this particular bottle i think.

M: excellent carbonation with better coating than expected. feels like if Listerine made a mouthwash in collaboration with Thelonius Spere Monk.

O: wont say suprisingly good, cause i've had the white ipa in winter and it was great, but the freshness of this summer bottling made my pubes stand up.

if you can get this fresh, buy it and drink it in the parking lot.

pops like the first miller highlife you had with your best girl in her brother's car. if only all things in life could be as perennial as fresh IPAs...

Appearance: Looks like a wheat beer, with a cloudy honey color and a massive, beaten egg white head that leaves gobs of lace behind

Smell: Bready, with tangerine esters and hints of cardamom

Taste: Opens like a Wit, with wheat bread, cardamom and orange peel, but by mid-palate, the tangerine flavors take over and dominate through the finish, though there is a touch of shortbread sweetness that lingers in the aftertaste

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Easily the best beer I have ever had from Matt; wasn't expecting this but let's be fair - this beer is a keeper

Poured chilled in ale glass

A: cloudy pale orange; thin head; very good carb.
S: strong piney aroma
T: sweet, delicious IPA; nice complex profile, with quite a bit in the treble notes; slight touches of pepper in the finish

One of Saranac's better beers; enjoy!

A - Pours a very hazy orange. White head that gives way to clumpy rings.

S - Citrus hops, hay, grass, pepper.

T - Citrus hops, spices, coriander, orange peel, peppery hops. Really crisp and dry finish. Very well controlled hops presence.

M - Medium-light.

O - What a great example of what this now popular style can be. Amazingly drinkable.

An excellent stuff from an unexpected source. This white IPA.

Pours with an excellent fluffy over one finger thick white colored head with good retention. Pale color with a lot of haze. Opaque. Excellent lacing on the sides. Pretty stable with no bubbles.

Aroma is a plus as well. A good amount of spicy flavor. A lot of coriander and some orange peel. Hos are present but are a lot suppressed as far as the nose is concerned. Hints of wheat malt and the accompanying sweetness. Some Belgian yeast - yes.

Taste is a just very well matched with the nose. Just a bit more bitter than was suggested by the wheat malts. Tongue touching with good presence of wheat malts and Belgian yeasts. Hops provide a nice bitterness towards the end that is well mixed with the spicy vigor of the brew. Coriander and orange peel shine.

Mouth feel is medium bodied with a nice balance. Low to moderate carbonation. Smooth drinking and good spice mix.
