I visited the Sequoia Brewing Co last year will in Fresno on business. I enjoyed a couple pints of the tasty Minerial IPA. Seeing this IPA on the shelf on sale as a single, I had to give it a shot. That's were the positive part ends.
The look was like a well-made IPA - amber color, nice finger sized head. There was little to no aroma, a subtle hint of Cascade hops. Tasting it wasn't much different. Not a lot of flavor hits the palate, some roasted malts but very little in the hop department. The higher than average alcohol content is very noticeable, bold through the other muted flavors.
I'd love to see the Minerial IPA in bottles, but I will avoid this one.

Piney, floral hop aroma with some grassy notes. Some crystal malt apparent in aroma as well.
Poured with a small white head with decent retention. Golden-orange with slight haze and some suspended particulate matter. Fine carbonation coming up through the glass.
Main flavors were piney, floral hops blended with toast and light crystal malt. Firm bitterness, but pretty well balanced for a California IPA. Lingering bitterness in finish with slight alcohol and resiny hop flavor in aftertaste.
Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Slight alcohol warmth.
Not mindblowing, but a pretty solid IPA. A couple of months back, I visited the brewery and tried several samples and was disappointed with almost all of them. This bottled version is better than just about every sample I tried.
