12 pack from TheBeerStore. No freshness date.

Served from a 341 ml brown bottle into a Guinness Pint glass.

A- Nice copper color, decent head dissipates quick leaving no lace and a thin layer of bubbles.

S- Nice malt aromas with a light dusting of citrusy hops in the nose. Some fruit as well ( apples, peaches ).

T- Good malty base with some nice caramel notes, hints of oranges and a whisper of grapefruit mid way, the hops are noticeable but far from bold in terms of bitterness. Im told that it is brewed with Fuggles hops but it sure doesn't seem like it. The hop profile is more like that of a spicy willamette than fuggles hop. In terms of balance everything is good but with so many great pale ales available right now it just left me wanting more in terms of flavor. Slight bitterness lingers in a somewhat dry finish.

M- Carbonation is light and works well. Light bodied.

D- Drinkable.

Overall a decent brew even if it is just a little withdrawn. Add a few more hops to the mix and this might be a decent pale ale. Worth a try. Reasonably priced.

Cask at Volo CaskFest 2008. Some hop aroma and grapefruit taste. Light mouthfeel. Minimum crown head on grapefruit colour. Better than expected, however it is fresh and they are usually substantially better from this brewery(if not most). Not too bitter, significant caramel.

Golden reddish, an appropriate colour - classic pale ale. Head is white and restrained. I wouldn't mind a bit more head...

Taste is tight and well constructed. This is more of an English pale ale than American. Hops show very nicely, with strong caramel malt presence. I'll elaborate on further tasting....

This is a very good pale ale, and will henceforth be my first choice for a pale ale until I can get Scotch-Irish in bottles. I think this would be a real winner as a cask ale.

341 ml bottle from The Beer Store. the bottles and packaging dont have a date on them but the case was dusty so im guessing that this has been "cellared" for me by The Beer Store.

pours deep orangeish/brown with a mid tan head. slightly hazed body with mid level carbonation.

the aroma is of faded once ample hops and a firm malt backbone. its actually almost has a barley wine aroma to it so its held up better then i would have expected.

the flavours are similar to the aroma. faded hops with lingering bitterness. firm caramel malts. the finish had a slight oxygenated plastic/carboard aspect but it wasnt all that noticable.

pretty good overall and id love to try it fresh.

If you like Sam Adams Boston Lager, you'll like this. It has a golden amber color with little head but good retention.

The nose is a good balance of hop and malt aroma.

THis has a prett straight forward hop bite that finishes with a hop kick that is a bit more flowery than citrusy but not too flowery. It could be saaz, but I'm not sure.

Decent looking beer with an amber body with golden highlights, and a nice frothy white head that left a little bit of lace. Lightly metallic and grassy aroma. Some pale malts, but not a whole ton of nice flavour going on. The over-riding taste is of a metallic bitterness coupled with a strong grain aspect that seems to be present in all the KLB beers I have tried so far. A bit of light caramel thrown in as well. The finish is a bit crap - full of plastic. Decent mouthfeel and carbonation for the style.

Too metallic to really enjoy. I wouldn't buy another.
