look: 4.5 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5

Poured from a 12 oz can, no visible canning date.

Pours a golden amber color with a 2 finger thick white head that retains and laces well. Very appetizing in appearance.

Smell is a good balance of pine, citrus, tropical fruit, and some herbs that give it a slight floral feel.

Taste is dry, hoppy, and piney (strong pine) at first. It then sweetens up and you get the citrus and mango flavors as well as a bit of malt, but the bitterness stays with you throughout. Finish is medium length and on the bitter side. Hops show up in the finish for me more so than at the beginning.

Feel is on the light side, medium carbonation. The presence of the pine is made known in the mouthfeel as well. That combined with the hops gives it a good bite on the tongue.

Overall, I can’t say I am a super fan, but this does the trick if I am in for a semi-bold IPA with a bitterness kick. Very easy drinking despite the bitterness and almost overly intense pine.

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The brew is served a clear amber color with a one finger head of fluffy white foam. The head has a great level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave tons of foamy lace rings on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is big of a sweeter tangerine and tropical fruit of pineapple and mango. Along with these smells comes some notes of pine and a bit of herb.
Taste – The taste starts out with a drier biscuit malt flavor that has a bit of the tropical fruit tastes the were sensed in the nose. Along with these tastes was a rather strong showing of some grapefruit hop. As the taste moves forward other hop flavors of a lighter pine and a bit of herb. During that time the sweeter tropical fruits get stronger and stronger. In the end the mix of grapefruit, dank hop and sweet makes for a nice clean but flavorful taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the lighter and crisper side with a carbonation level that was moderate in effervescence. The feel was rather nice for the mix of somewhat drier malt, the sweeter tastes that develop throughout the flavor profile, and the dank hop complimenting all well without allowing one to overwhelm the others.
Overall – A fairly tasty IPA overall. It has a nice easy drinking flavor profile and is quite approachable.

Tasting a relatively new local IPA, Dadgum IPA from Rahr & Son, ABV 6.60%, IBU 70. I found it to be pretty good. Nothing spectacular but a nice good IPA. There are a lot of good IPAs now a day.

Look: Golden with a finger thick white head

Aroma: citrus, tropical fruit a bit floral, pine

Taste: Honey, citrus, grapefruit, and pine resin & grapefruit rind like biting bitterness at the end.

Body/Overall: light to medium body.

From a very tall aluminum can, this brew is lightly hazy and amber gold in color. Slim whit head. The aroma is sharp and hoppy...resin and citrus peel. The taste is slightly dry, with plenty of hops and just a hint of pale malt underneath. Medium-full body.

Pours clear gold with a decent amount of white head, solid lacing

Nose is very floral, herbal, with a little pine

Taste is very astringent, bitter, and dry. Some pine notes. Resin. Maybe melon? Different....takes a few sips to really zone in.

Medium body, extremely dry finish

12 fl oz pull-tab can ran me $1.99 at Total Wine & More:

Floral hop profile. Some citrus. Tangy almost yogurt-like hops in the late second act. Honeydew mid-palate. Pale malt/2-row suppresses any bitterness, but hop pungency is quite low for the style.

Simple and shallow, but enjoyable for what it is. The hop profile just isn't that interesting; not an IPA that stands out amongst the myriad offerings in the overcrowded IPA segment of the beer market.

Nice creamy head that has some staying power. Dry mouth feel with a dry finish of grapefruit. Respectable IPA, good, yet not outstanding. Would drink it again.

Pours an effervescent gold with 2 fingers of of whipped up ivory colored head. Nice head retention & lacing

S: Faint grassyness/breadyness

T: Follows the nose, along with pomelo, pine & much dryness up front. Dryness, pomelo, a little breadyness & grassyness once warm. Finishes bone dry with pomelo & a little grapefruit

MF: Medium body, slight carbonation, solid balance

A solid, but not exactly memorable IPA

Dadgum IPA has a thin, white head, a hazy, orange-gold appearance, with moderate lacing and lots of powdery and fairly large gray-white chunk sediment, throughout. Aroma is of pine, hop resin, white bread, bread crust, and a touch of citrus. Taste is of sweet, slightly-bitter, pale malts, citrus, fairly heavy, piney, and hop resin. Mouthfeel is medium, and Dadgum finishes mostly dry.

Poured out a clear, golden color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of pine and citrus. Hints of roastiness, too. Sweet and malty with a mild bitterness and citrus kick.

12oz can, plastic Walmart cup (we're moving dude), canned on what looks like July 18, 2017. "18717" is on the bottom.

Well, I can only see the beer as it pours and from what I can tell it is medium yellow, probably a little hazy. The head is healthy and almost white.

Peach rings, Meyer lemon, a little pine, white pepper, and citrus. The aromas are strong.

Dehydrated lemon slices, red grapefruit, pine, and some very light two-row malt action. The bitterness is light to medium and really quite in check for an IPA this flavorful.

Creamy mouthfeel with carbonation that I can only describe as gentle, but very present. The feel of it is very well done.

I feel like having more of this IPA. I think it appeals to those who don't like things too bitter, but it still has something for the hop heads and beer nuts among us. This is well crafted beer.

If it weren't for the massive amounts of suspended sedimentation, I'd have rated this one higher on Look and Overall.

Still, it is a drinkable IPA. As advertised: "Charged with citra & lemondrop hops- Fresh cut pine- Lively bitterness- Intense fruit flavors and aromas"
