On-tap at Flying Sacuer in Fort Worth, on to the beer:
I'm not normally a guy who will praise a helles bock, but I will here. Its light orange/copper color is topped with light lacing, and the aroma of raisins and sweet dough delight me to take a drink. This dark bready, sweet dough tasting bock also takes on dates and a pinch of booze, running in a medium/full and smooth body. I have to say, Buckling Bock was a great afternoon choice.

My favorite, local brewery, Rahr and Sons, have produced this bock that smells good (a bit of dried fruit) and looks dark and promising, but the taste and feel leave me as flat as they are.

Poured into a pint glass. Hazy golden color with a white, minimal head that doesn't leave lacing. Nose of grain and weak hops. Taste follows the nose with sweet grain, a touch sweetness, and finish of hops. More taste than the nose hints at. Medium bodied and medium carbonation with a clean finish.
This doesn't really stand out, but it's enjoyable and goes down pretty well. Alcohol is well hidden and is a nice bonus. The hops are understated but probably the best part of it.
