look: 3.75 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 4 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4

A: Redish-orange body. No head but a few bubbles from carbonation while drinking.

S: Malty and fall. Has a pumpkin all spice smell that is typical of these beers.

T: Similar to the smell. Lots of those fall flavors with a malty body.

F: Warming tingle that lasts after the beer is gone.

O- Solid Oktoberfest offering. Will likely have more before the season is over.

Rich roasted malt with a spicy, rye-like note, which helps balance the sweetness. The hop flavor is very mellow, but carbonation is nice and sharp. What really sets this brew apart is the high alcohol content. It is very well integrated, but adds a bit of distinction to this Texas Marzen.

Pours to a generous head that falls to a thin layer and laces a bit. Orange-amber color. Aroma is sweet and slightly toasty Munich malts. Flavor is mild and deceiving for a 6.7 abv beer. Subtle arrangement of malty, biscuity goodness balanced by clean and floral but nondescript noble hops. Light mouthfeel for the style but acceptable. Overall a very tasty, technically accurate O-Fest.

Poured into a dimpled mug.

ABV is 6.7% as stated on the can.

Look: Caramel Bomb Amber -- new Crayola color name. The tan gear recedes to a collar around the edges.

Aroma: Spicy hops and sweet caramel malts.

Taste: The sweet toasted bread and caramel malt body drive the beer but an almost equal amount of spicy hops add perfect balance. Slightly tangy finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, slightly dry.

Overall: Pretty solid all around.

A smooth caramel, toffee taste, that is followed by a toasted malted finish.

Taste Rating in Words: It's the beautiful color change of the leaves in the fall.

Poured into dimpled seidel. Fizzes, no head, faint lace. Medium amber color.

Nose: Sweet caramel malt bomb.

Similar taste, also a little nutty, even honey flavor.

Mouth is medium dry.

An overlooked example of the style, well balanced. Great example of the liquid bread end of the Oktoberfest family.

Poured into a beer mug. Light amber color with a thin head that recedes quickly without leaving lacing. Nose of bready malt and something sweet like toffee or caramel that is subtle. Definitely tastes better than it smells with spicy hops, beady malt, and a little toffee. Spicy hops leave a somewhat bitter aftertaste. Medium body and carbonation, right on point for the style.
There are better Oktoberfests out there. This one got a little hop happy and deviated from what I expected. I finished it but am not going to be getting it again.
