Poured from the bottle into a tulip glass.

Deep copper red. Shiny and almost with a brassy gleam to it. Very clear, with a good roaring fire of carbonation in the middle as well. Tan head. Fleeting if growing large at first pour, but settles to two fingers with soapy retention. Leaves a simple puck while standing. Real nice looking brew.

Interesting aroma. Mild sensing farmhouse pepper notes, but also a good deal of vinegar like acidity. No real detectable sweetness, but not highly sensing tart either. Small biscuit and caramel notes with a bit of toasted brown bread make a little edge to the aroma as well.

Interesting palate. Slighty juiced but also feeling a little wet but no horribly so, transferring lighter and grainy flavors with a little hint of farmhouse character. Good simple dryness in the mid palate, but gives the sense of more dark grains, and flour like powder sensations. Finishes with some caramel sweetness, but more powder like character continues, and also some excessive banana like esters as well.

Real nice looker of a beer, but also a bit of an odd malt character which gives to slight caramel, but minimal saison qualities.

In general, I think Brewers Art is overrated here in Baltimore. I'm just never really impressed with their beer. This one however is different. Probably one of the better Baltimore saisons.

A: poured fresh from a growler into a Stella Artois tulip glass. Presents a
Deep, dark golden amber with hints of pink and red. Several inches of thick, foamy head that takes a bit to dissipate.

S: fresh berries present immediately in a floral bouquet with a hint of citrus and malt.

T: an excellent take on coalescing a saison with sangria - true to its intent. Medium body mouthfeel with hops and carbonation resonating through the berry. A decent yeasty funk taste - like someone through a strawberry against a dirty barn door and let it ferment for a couple months.

New to the 12 oz bottle format. I remember enjoying this more at the pub, probably because I don't tend to focus on the aroma when I drink down in the dungeon. Here, the yeasty aroma is a lil off putting, but it looks good and tastes better.
