Hey , BA bros. Just leave me logged in!! I always check "stay logged in" but everyday I have to log in!!
Hard to believe that our last in-person beer fest was three years ago today. Extreme Beer Fest in Boston, Mass. I miss our beer fests.
Just brought home deer #4 — been a pretty good season; celebrating with a homemade meatball hoagie and another Snake River Zonker Stout.
Just have kicked off the *official* start of the Duvel Tasting thread. This should be a blast to one and all!
At the risk of offense … I’ve tried Duvel multiple times, and I just don’t enjoy the flavor. That’s not true for all Belgian Pale Strong Ales … I love Lariat Lodge (Littleton, CO) Gogmagog, and Court Avenue (Des Moines) Farmers Market Gold. Probably something screwy in my taste bud chemistry. I’ll respectfully sit out this Duvel Tasting Weekend and will be glad with you that you’re enjoying it — I mean that!
BIG STOUTS Is Back! https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/big-stouts-is-back-extremely-limited.671075/
Good morning, BeerAdvocate! I hope you have an awesome week full of awesome beer that's brewed and served by awesome people.
6” of snow when 1” was predicted. Dog walked, birds fed, drive & walks shoveled. Relaxing now with a Speedway Stout before the Bengals game.
Had Surly Darkness Bourbon-Barrel Aged for the 1st time last night while playing guitars with my son-in-law. So much fun.
Just brought home my third deer of the season — celebrating with a bowl of really good chili and a Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald Porter.
Extreme Beer Box: BIG STOUTS forum is up! https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/forums/extreme-beer-box-big-stouts-2023.109/
Dry January until now. Broke it down with a Weihenstephaner Hefe followed by a Surly Controlled Chaos. Feels good.
Wow. 1k beers. I don’t think much has changed from my first rating other than my gut and my eye for canning dates. Here’s to another 1000.
Congrat’s BigIronH! Maybe this is a dumb question, but I gotta ask (!). Of all 1000, do you have a favorite?
@mpruden if I had to pick a favorite it would probably be CBS or another stout from Founders but I’ve never considered it before.
Tried an Australian Sparking ale for the first time this week, brewed by my local Strap Tank. First of its kind in UT and blew me away!
Being in Vegas on business is great, not for the gambling & glitz, but for the developed craft beer culture, unlike West FL where I live.
Dinner tonight is my wife’s Chicken Curry, paired with a Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier Dunkel — very near a perfect pairing!
Who needs The Strip? I make a bee-line here whenever I’m in town. Check out this tap list! https://acesandales.com/tenaya-live-tap-list/
I’m in my happy place… Aces & Ales - Tenaya in Las Vegas. They have the most consistently eclectic and interesting tap list I’ve ever seen!
