Except for my NCAA bracket, it's been a great March so far: French Toast Bastard, Heady, Old Rip Medianoche, and PtE. Whalez, bro!
It was a pleasure, that was great that you still had a bottle that you gave him to open and remember him with. Told my wife and she was very touched
Good morning, everyone! I hope you have an awesome week full of awesome beer that’s brewed and served by awesome people.
Indiana (my alma mater) just got knocked out of NCAA’s by a good Miami (FL) team. Relaxing with a Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier anyway.
Dessert: Grilled Warm Molten Chocolate Cakes w/ whipped cream and Mandarin Orange slices; Beer Pairing: Speedway Stout.
Dinner: Sliced Corned Venison Roast (Hank Shaw recipe) and Colcannon; beer pairing: Guinness Stout. Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all BA!
Oh my, … that would be back in my naive days, before my first Snake River Zonker Stout, when I still thought Bud was King and Coors was worth driving west for!

Thank you. I have also decided to become a Society member both for supporting the site and getting rid of those ads. Cheers !
The question facing me at the moment is if I want to open this big bottle of 11.5% quad. Leaning toward "yes".
Just did a quick count, I currently have about 55 different barleywines on hand. I bet @Beersnake1 has me beat by plenty.

Sitting in an airport bar in Norfolk, VA, wishing the most exotic beer on the menu wasn’t Stella. Oh, to be in a craft beer town right now!
If you’re flying out of there, no luck; if you happen to be driving south from there, Elizabeth City’s (NC) Ghost Harbor Brewing Company has credible beer.
I should add that I had some great local beers across the tunnel in the Hampton area, and there are probably some in Norfolk that I haven’t had a chance to discover. The airport bar just seems like a sign that craft beer hasn’t reached a tipping point to be a major part of the local consciousness yet.
Great time, great friendship, mixed on the beers — fourth time there over several years; rated the place and two more beers on BA.
… and drinking beer … and visiting brewpubs … and reviewing beers and places on BA … and … and … (you get the idea!) …
I’m pretty happy with the European forums and how you implemented them. I’d agree even as an outsider to the US that four “regional” forums for such a large, populated country as the US is unpopular to some people. Even in Kiribati they complain about it.
