An AZ brewer coming to Tx? And I believe they're active on BA... very cool!

OUDE ZUIPERS BELGIAN TRIPEL ALE MALT BEVERAGE 2013-02-20 BROUWERIJ VAN STEENBERGE

 

My mistake - I searched for OUDE ZUIPERS BELGIAN TRIPEL and the top results were for PAPAGO. I confused myself. This beer is from Brouwerij Van Steenberge and not PAPAGO (though they have the same name)

 

I checked the Papago Oude Zuipers Tripel on here and it says they have this one brewed in Belgium. I'd bet this is the same exact beer that Papago puts out.

 

Nice! I just searched for a review and found this:

"I took home a bottle of Papago's Oude Zuipers, a Belgian-style tripel. Actually, it's brewed for Papago by Brouwerij Van Steenberge in Belgium, so it's not so much Belgian-style as actually Belgian." [1]

Yes, Oude Zuipers (Flemish for old drunks) is coming to Texas and will be available anyplace carrying other Van Steenberge beers. We have redesigned the bottles and labels, going from 750's to the 33cl's as we feel it is a better package for an 11% beer. The pack containers were just designed last week so it is still roughly two months or so away from hitting shelves there. The beer is a close cousin to Gulden Draak and the Gulden Draak 9000 Quad, a little lighter in color than they are but with the same malt character and yeast ester profiles that they share. Draft should be available also if the distributors there want it so if you like it tell them to order it. Sorry for the name confusion, Yes, the beer is brewed at Van Steenberge (since 2009) but they pretty much treat it as our own. Distribution will also be rolling out in Colorado and New Mexico. We are planning on canning some of our other beers later this year and will be looking at out of state distribution if we can produce enough. Hope you guys enjoy it as much as we do.

Sam Adams Blueberry Hill Lager was really nice on tap. Every time I see these lists I just can't believe how far beer has come in this state I mean kegs of BBA Silva Stout... this is just a dream.
