Decent beer, but not my favorite. When it was first released way back when, I suspect it was the best beer you could get at the time though!

In re: "Search and Destroy"-

There is a pretty interesting David Bowie documentary called The Sacred Triangle that touches on the making of Raw Power (Bowie was sort of managing the Stooges at the time, but in reality was just trying to keep them in a holding pattern. They, of course, just went ahead on their own and made the thing just to keep busy.)- definitely worth checking out.

Evil twin #2

 

Exciting time in my household, just found out that the wife likes sours so I got her this Jester King RU-55. Maybe this will get her off my ass for all the spending I do on mine

 

Gavroche French Red Ale. Not bad. Nothing special. The corking system drove me nuts. I needed a screwdriver and a corkscrew to open the d--n thing.

 

So, I struck out today in search of the Smoked Oaked Old Guardian. No biggie, though, cuz I did get a bunch of other beers I've been looking for. First up-


starting the night with something light and snappy, but also pretty sophisticated. I like how they managed to tame the hibiscus tannins just enough, but didn't totally neuter that quality either- it definitely builds by mid-glass. Very interesting, and a winner overall.

After this one, the volume gets pumped- so let's have some appropriate music:

 

Sorachi ace. Ha, I'm drunk.

Now drinking my last 2012 Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale

It still has great Hop flavor and aroma though!
