Is offering BA Bigfoot + '12 Abyss + either Sucaba, an Eclipse variant, RR sours (not Beat or FfaC), Fruet not close to getting this done? I posted on the ISO board and got crickets. I did a trade 1:1 with an Eclipse this year. The value couldn't have jumped already that much. Could it?

Im sure this will be of no consolation to you, but if I had another Cherry Rye I would without a doubt take you up on that. I traded my extra bottle straight up for a Hunahpu.

I think the rarity of it is much greater, but that is a decent offer. I just have a feeling most people could get the beers your offering fairly easy and not have to trade the cherry IMO.

After seeing what Cherry Rye has gone for, I pulled my lines out of the water.

I definitely want to try it but I'm not willing to give up what it takes.

I guess being a potential one-off has made it's trade value skyrocket. King Henry II?

Well, after nothing on the ISO boards, I ask if this trade value is off and I get an offer. So idk if the ISO boards are just a wasteland where non-troll traders don't look or what. Nonetheless, looks like I'm trading for a cherry so it's all good

Could be you got buried in the mass amounts of threads. Good job and landing it. I would make the same offer

You probably got buried in the tons of ISO: Cherry Rye FT: '13 Hunahpu posts man.

    Glad you got it done.

I think you could have easily gotten it done in the other forum if you had phrased it as you did here. Your ISO:FT just has a list of the beers you mentioned here and that you wanted to go $4$ or a little over. And since the Cherry price has been all over the place, that might have seemed a little vague to people. A simple "3:1" in your post would have surely gotten it done. Congrats on landing one.

I traded earlier this year for an Eclipse 1:1 so I assumed price for the Cherry Rye was right around $25-30 for everyone. So I assumed Abyss+BA Bigfoot would suffice $4$ and Id expand over if needed. My assumption and wording were definitely off that you mention it

Trading volume for perceived rarity is always a tricky endeavor. Glad you got it done though. And yes, ISO/FT is a complete cesspool - I only periodically even look there anymore, just to keep a pulse on what is out there.

    This

And this. There are some real jackasses around there lately.

Glad to see you got it done, that's a solid offer for Cherry Rye, IMO

cherry rye is a limited offshelf beer with thousands of bottles distributed to several states, you are offering over 2x $4$ in offshelf/limited beers, i think your offer is beyond fair, inevitably someone from the Chicago whole foods is gonna come up in here with a blankie straight from the dryer tears welling up in his eyes talking about how Cherry Rye was impossible to get and should trade 1:1 for CFH13 and BA Abraxas,

so let's just wait for that guy to show up.

sounds like it is only fair to get together and open a cherry rye with your hunah? and another 10 or so beers!

That sounds very fair...it is sitting on a shelf waiting patiently to be opened

Just don't do what we did and open it next to Cherry Adam, or other fruited masterpiece, or its inadequacies will be revealed. I realize they are different styles, and Cherry Rye IMHO is a very delicious beer, but not as stellar as its trading value would imply. Trying it next to a masterpiece really points that out. Rare and BCBCS are both far superior, regular is nearly as good.

Just to clarify, I have the Huna, not the Cherry, lol. But I completely agree with you. I enjoyed Cherry Rye, thought it was excellent, but, IMO, by the second half of the bomber the cherries started getting to be too much for me. The best way I can put it...I have put down 32oz growlers of Coffee and regular BCBS by myself and was sad to see the last drop go, but would have been more than happy splitting my bottle of Cherry with one or two other people.
