Twin Lakes Brewery Greeneville, DE population 2,325. Cool tiny brewery on a farm that has been in the same family for a couple hundred years.

Seems to me there are a lot here in New England that would qualify as breweries in small towns. I think the question kind of overlaps with distribution to some extent. There's a small brewery that just opened up in Berkley, MA that only has distribution to a handful of restaurants in the area. Small town, small brewery, small geographical distribution.

I happen to think that the "local brewery" is something that could be a very viable part of beer's future.

Holy crap, I saw the title of the thread and thought "I have to mention that new brewery in Holgate."
I grew up in Napoleon, right up around Co Rd 14 and Z if you know the area. Technically it's considered Flatrock Township. Never thought I would see that brewery mentioned on the BA forums.
    Cheers!

Small town breweries in Iowa. Only included breweries in towns with <10,000 in population. Did not include "planned" breweries. Probably another 30+ if you count breweries in towns >10,000 or planned breweries.

Angry Cedar Brewing Co. - Waverly, IA - pop. 9,784
Briar Creek Brewery - Janesville, IA - pop. 930
Broad Street Brewing Co. - Reinbeck, IA - pop 1,664
Buck Ridge Brewery - Janesville, IA - pop. 930
CIB (Chefs In Black) Brewery - Carson, IA - pop. 812
Keg Creek Brewery - Glendwood, IA - pop. 5,269
Lost Duck Brewing Co. - Fort Madison, IA - pop. 10,980
Millstream Brewing Co. - Amana Colonies, IA - pop. (unknown)
Okoboji Brewing Co. - Spirit Lake, IA - pop. 4,840
Old Man River Brewery - McGregor, IA - pop. 871

The name is misleading, the brewery isn't actually in Rolling Meadows  It's in Cantrall, IL outside of Springfield.

As far as little known, small town breweries, I would have to give a nod to Riverport Brewing in Clarkston, WA. There's another brewery across the river in Lewiston, but that place makes god-awful beer.

I was going to mention them as well, still cap by hand, wood fired burner, hand delivered by owner/brewer, etc. But my beloved once-small hometown now has over 5000 residents!

Jamesport in Ludington Michigan is pretty right. Not sure what the population is though. Can't be too big, right?

Indian Wells and Kern River. Close to each other, similar size small towns, and yet, worlds apart in terms of quality.

Ruby Mountain in NE Nevada is pretty rural. It has a population of zero pretty much. Its PO Box is in Wells, but its actual location is quite a few miles from Wells (which is super tiny and rustic anyways).
