...or how about a four-pack of 16-ounce cans of Southern Star Pine Belt Pale Ale for $5.88?

... if that's a winner, then I win. Southern Star is all over Bryan-College Station, and while I'm not a big fan of Old Potentate, I'm MORE than willing to drain all of Southern Star's offerings until I find one I like.

The Pine Belt has become one of my go-to brews. Since I live 5 miles from the brewery, I don't think freshness is an issue. Their Buried Hatchet Stout is amazing...and if you can find a 16.9 ounces bottle of the Bourbon Barrel Aged version of Hatchet known as Black Crack, don't walk, run.

A beer store in Reno, NV I visited just a few months ago had all Deschutes 6-packs at 5.99. Left with sixers of Black Butte, Obsidian Stout and Mirror Pond. Felt like I had committed some kind of crime.

24oz. tall boy of Genny Cream at 1.09 at some gas stations by me is up there too.

I saw a 12 pack of rolling rock today for 5.99. Better than bud, miller,or coors in my opinion

Otter Creek Black IPA 6pk for $6.99. My local Trader Joe's was also selling London Pride for $4.99 a 6 in cans a few weeks back. Didn't last long and I haven't seen it back since, I am thinking the price tag guy made a boo boo, it was too good to be true...

What is your definition of cheap? Just picked up a 6er of CCB Maduro Brown for $8 and a 4 pack of Terrapin Moo-Hoo for $6. Pretty good value there.

Probably the best quality for the price that is readily available to me would be Lagunitas.

People's Porter from Foothills. $3.69 a bomber. Also Copper from Olde Mecklenburg Brewery. $3.99 a bomber, or a 3 pack of bombers for $9.99. Yum.

Personally, I think a 22oz bottle of Stone Old Guardian is a great deal for $5.99.

I usually can't get any "good beer" under 10 bucks in a sixer. I usually find my self grabbing some type of SN or heading for the Dale's Pale Ale. Dogfish Head is reasonably priced around here also.
