Was going to ask this question, and totally forgot that this was already started. Thanks for the reminder. Is there an official time that this bottle share is going to start? Looks like Im going to be getting there a little later than first expected. Probably get there around 7-8.

Been watching the weather report. Looks like the snow/freezing rain should stop early on Friday, but, yeah...it's gonna be very cold. Current 10 day forecast puts the low for Saturday at 24F.

No problem. The list is really taking off now but I'm not to sure if there is an "official" time the bottle share will start.

I dunno know about you, but when we arrive I'm going into the pub, unless there is already a line outside but I honestly dont (hope to) see that happening till the pub closes at 12

Updated some of the stuff I plan on bringing as well.

This has been asked recently, but do you guys plan on sharing friday night, or in line on saturday, or once bottles have been purchased Saturday? I plan on bringing my bottles when i get in line and sharing with who ever wants some.

Voodoo has said the bottle share has to be outside

I know, that's not going to stop people from gathering outside in Voodoo's tent or at a hotel before hand. I'm just curious what other people had in mind.

I'm just gonna come right out with it...

I'm getting there Friday night at 5 PM and I'm bringing my bottles with me. If others want to drink with me, that would be my preference. But if I'm the only dude sitting there drinking by myself, I'll figure out a way to cope...at least the temps will be cold enough that I won't need to bring a cooler :grinning:

So... At first I laughed at this.
Then I thought about it and couldnt tell if you were trolling or serious.
Now I am starting to think that the precedence might have been set based on other releases and how they have been attended. 18+ hour wait in 24 degree weather to buy these beers? Is that what this is going to be?
Why? I realize people are coming from all over and noone wants to get shut out. But is it a serious consideration for people to be outside waiting in line in lieu of being inside, drinking and eating in the warmth while the pub is still open the evening before???

Dont get me wrong. I love bottle shares and I love the comradery that goes along with waiting in line. But this seems to be stretching it. Yes? No?

    How off-base am I here?

You aren't off base. Its pretty crazy if you ask me. Don't forget that windchills will probably put it in the teens overnight.

Hope that dude doesn't freeze to death. And I'm being dead serious (pun intended).

You're not off base at all. I agree with everything above. It's absurd. However, it's not just a serious consideration, but a reality. I will be there at 5 PM on Friday.

    Why?

    1. Because I've been scared into taking the precaution based on chatter...
    2. I live close enough and there are so few releases like this around that I want to make sure I take advantage.
    3. Already had the time off from work to watch the NCAA tournament games, so it makes no difference to me if I get there at 5 or at 10 to start waiting.

Believe me, my preference would be to arrive and see no one in line, head inside and drink/eat/chat until I see the line start to form. But I'm fully prepared to set up my folding chair upon arrival if need be.

This why I was for them selling tickets.

Oh well. If someone does die overnight because of the mix of alcohol/cold/whatever else is added to this mix I go on record telling Voodoo 'I told you so"
