I had the pleasure of visiting the brewery last weekend when I was in Hood River for a wedding reception. My entire experience was nothing short of fantastic!

First off, all of the beers I sampled were absolutely delicious! The 2 stand outs for me were their CDA and their Belgian stout. My girlfriend and I ordered the full flight (12 beers) and had no problem finishing all of them. Each brew was unique and always kept us coming back for more after each sip. My only regret is that they were out of their mosaic pale ale that I had at Belmont Station a couple weeks before this. Absolutely a world class pale.

Were shared an order of the fondue and were not disappointed. Nice fresh cut meats and bread that paired great with the brews.

Despite it being relatively busy (Saturday around 7pm) the service we received was top notch. The server was attentive and friendly and came back several times to check on us. A special shout out goes to Stephanie the tasting room manager. She was on top of her game like few I have ever seen. She was genuinely enthusiastic about her job and it showed. Her service alone will ensure repeat visits from my friends and I.

pFriem is a place that every northwest beer enthusiast should visit. Sooner rather than later. Can't wait for them to start bottling!

What's even better than posting a praise-filled post on the forums is adding a full review on the Pfriem place page on BA. Right now, they only have 2 reviews... you could easily cut & paste your post and add some scores for the various categories and be done.

I've only been to Pfriem once (following the Hood River Hops Fest last fall) and thought it was terrific, too. Have had their beers at various locations/fests around Portland and I'm impressed so far. Can't wait for the chance to go back...

Its average. Belgian inspired but none stood out as high quality. Lineup top-down is avg. but its decent beer...good samplier i think they charged $2 a sampler which i prefer $1.50max. But overall had a good experience w/their beer. High abv and smooth but nothing to drive to a taproom for

I had my first pfriem beer today at Latona pub, the CDA, I thought it was pretty solid, I've heard some good things about their other offerings.

Based on what I've heard about the folks that run this place and what they're going for with the brewery, I really want to like their beers. Unfortunately, the only ones I've had, the Belgian stout and the bsda, were truly disgusting. They had a flavour that reminded me specifically of vomit. I suspect that this is from their yeast strain, so I look forward to trying some of their lagers and lighter beers to see if they turn out better, but I'm really not a fan of what I've had so far.

They're killing it. Certainly will never prioritize Double Mountain again in Hood River. Wish they were open 7 days.

Had some of their belgians at pine box, don't recall what though. Very nice. Having said that, the sound brewing tripped rocks

Out of curiosity, where did you have the beers?

1856 and Bailey's iirc. I know both places do a good job of keeping their lines clean and such, so I don't think the issue is on their end.

Odd, I didn't notice anything like that, although IIRC that's one of those off-flavors that can come from insufficient time for the yeast to clean up.

Personally, while I'm interested in what comes out of their barrel program, I haven't found their current lineup all that interesting. We did the taster flight when we visited and most of the beers just sort of blurred together. The BSDA was one we actually liked, though (and didn't taste like everything else on the tray).

I've really liked everything I've had from them so far. The big surprise for me is the Blonde IPA, it almost looks like a Bud, but just loaded hoppy goodness. Goes down way too easy.

Had a taste of their regular IPA at Jones Wednesday night. Seemed a well-made yet unremarkable take on the style.

I had their CDA at Latona Pub the other week. It was pretty solid.

I thought their Mosaic Single Hop Pale was one of the best beers I had in all of 2012, I couldn't get enough. I love their "little" saison also. They've now added the Mosaic to their IPA hop profile and I am looking forward to tasting that.

This was going to be my question, I had the BSDA at Paulée in Dundee last weekend and I thought it was excellent. *

    * Paulée has some amazing food, good beer list and they are starting to do beer dinners. They have one with Heater Allen coming up.

I had a Dill Saison from them once I think (I was more than a few beers in at that point in the night) and it was freaking awesome. Really wish I was more sober when I had it cause I remember loving it.

I just had their IPA the other day. It's been a long time since I was that surprised by a new beer. It totally blew me out of the water and immediately has become one of my absolute favorite IPAs

Amazing might be a leeetttle bit strong (IMHO), but I agree it was a very fine beer. It had a brightness of flavor (not sure how else to describe it) that was surprising. Just a delicious beer, and at that level of abv., I could drink it all the time.
