A blind tasting with these beers would be interesting. These beers are distinctly different, I would be surprised if I could not pick each one out with in the first sip.

How can your palate be directly linked with somebody else's?
    Sounds weird and gross.

KBS is very different from the other two... so hard to rank them but

    My preference is

    1. BCBS
    2. Black Note
    3. KBS

Sorry to gross you out. What that means is that when we have various beers together we pretty much always have the same opinion.

Never had black note but it's hard to decide a favorite among the other two. In a tasting you may prefer BCBS because it is stronger in bourbon flavor, mouthfeel, etc... and generally more in your face. This isn't really a fair comparison because it is 4% higher ABV. KBS is very well crafted and the way all the flavors come across equally to me makes it world class, but if you have it side by side with BCBS it may seem thinner and less flavorful. Me personally I may prefer KBS but it isn't easy to decide as they are both top of the line BBA stouts.

Black Note>KBS>BCBS. Need to revisit BCBS though

Ive just had all 3 in the last year for the first time. My list is probably based a little more on a mix of drinkability and complexity, because if it went only on only complexity my list would be in reverse order.

I have had all three within the last year as they have been released....

    KBS, Black Note, BCBS

At the end of the day though, they are all such great beers. If you find your self lucky enough to be drinking any of them, then its a good day.

    Cheers,
    John

I agree...just did KBS tonight and onto BCBS now. While I love the heck out of KBS, I think I'm beginning to love BCBS more because of its "complex and full of flavor" taste.

Somebody send me Black Note asap! :stuck_out_tongue:

Momentary preference is a huge factor. Right now I would go KBS>BN>BCS. This is a statement of preference not quality. KBS and Black Note will flip flop in the top two spots, drinkability is a big factor. BCS is bigger and sweeter than the other two, meaning I will tend to reach for it less often.

Macintosh apples don't hold a candle to Fuji apples. They lack crispness and flavor. Honeycrisp apples on the other hand...
