I'm glad the first comment was about whiners, and the majority of comments after that are a bunch of babies crying.

Here is an example, Odells exports to the UK, and I can't get it in MI. Nothing to get wound up over, it is their business and they can make the decissions best for them.

Triple the price in brazil? Sheeeeeeezus. $30 4 packs of breakfast stout?! Nice to see great american breweries exporting beer to other parts of the world...

Any reason why we can't order beer from one European country and receive it in another?

For example; Alesmith doesn't distribute to France, how do you think we got it?

Ordered it from an importer in Denmark...

Comparing Cantillon to Founders makes no sense...

Let's look at the portfolio Founders is shipping to the UK:

A porter, 2 pale ales, and 2 ipas. Are you telling me that there aren't enough American brewed pale ales, ipas, and porters available in the PNW, let alone brewed in those states? As someone who used to live in WA and is very familiar with their dist. I know for a fact you've got plenty of local options that are just as good if not better.

Not saying the PNW doesn't "deserve" to have Founders beers but think about it logically from a business standpoint, doesn't it make more sense they chose to export it to a market that is dying to have these beers as opposed to expand distribution to a region loaded with good local breweries...

I think Bruce's point was "Fine, we don't get any FBS, KBS, etc. then you don't get any Cantillon". Simple shit talking.

Yes, Jean has said that Cantillon would be dead if it weren't for other countries supporting them, but it's not just the US (Scandinavia, Italy, France) and Japan are also major supporters.

Here's my question though; if so much Cantillon is exported to the US, why isn't it available to anyone?

I'll be the first (or thirty-second) person to bitch.

Even in Michigan, it's a pain in the ass to find KBS. It was sold out before I could ask. Ridiculous.

Haha, thanks man. Occasionally, when I am really jazzed up about something, I can put it in to words decently. BTW, don't know if you ever trade beer, but if you do and are interested, I visit GA about once a year (my wifes family is there) and they have Founders available.

I'd be happy to set something up and get some Founders to you and you can send me some PNW goodness which I miss (don't take Deschutes for granted, Mirror Pond and Black Butte rival Founders Porter and pale ale for sure, not to mention the Abyss easily beats FBS and their Imperial Stout) only difference being the bomber versus 4/6 pack format.

OMG, A LIMITED BEER IS LIMITEDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!

Europe is getting the regular stuff that you guys pass on 9/10 times. Get off your high horse and stop using market expansion as a scapegoat for your inability to get a certain beer.

And when we do get it, it costs an arm and a leg. Over 3 euros for a bottle of SNPA in a shop, 3 euros for Brooklyn lager, over 4 euros for Torpedo, 7.50 euros for SN northern hemisphere harvest(and it arrives on a shelf months and months after it's been bottled.) People in London have told me the prices are even higher for Stone products over there. Something like 5 - 6 euros for a bottle of Stone IPA.
Trust me guys, you're not missing anything, though I don't know why I feel compelled to console you.

This is brilliant news - thought I'd only ever be able to access Founders through trade. Really hope Backwoods Bastard and Breakfast Stout make it here as well.

Yeah, for now -- inevitably, other, harder-to-find beers will be shipped over there. Founders could easily produce more KBS and make more money while not sacrificing quality, but I can see why they don't.

Limited beer is only supposed to be limited for the unwashed masses who aren't sophisticated enough to be on the BA forums. We are here so therefore we are supposed to have right of first refusal for every single seasonal and limited beer release on the planet. How dare you question our entitlement of easy access to rare beer.

Yes, you are supposed to tell us how hard these beers are to get for normal people and then post a picture of a case of KBS that was aged in king Henry barrels and bottled at Cantillon, but not be a hoarder bro.
