Best way to get great brews with a cheap brew is worth homebrew.

    Nonhomebrews:
    Sierra Nevade Pale ale
    Lagunitas sucks
    Brooklyn chocolate
    Brooklyn Barleywine
    Bitburger

*I am not currently in MA as my location says, so the $7.79 price is in OK.

And Victory Golden Monkey-5.49 750 ml a 9.5 abv -great tasting Belgian Tripel(not the best-La Fin du Monde has that distinction) and if you can get La fin for 7.99 (which I can or less I think it is well worth it) then rip every last bottle off the shelf.

I actually agree with this. We get it, here, for $3.50-$4.15, but a world class multi-serving bottle of Weizenbock is a steal in my opinion. I always point customers interested in German's towards it.
...and Tripel Karmeliet on draft is better than La fin du Monde, for arguments sake.

I guess when it comes to tripel's-it is a matter of taste-there are hardly any of them that are bad .One thing is anything from Weihenstephan is fantastic as is anything from Unibroue. I think for the price and the taste you will never get anything as consistantly fantastic as W's brews

My only gripe is that I wish Korbinian and the Dunkel Hefe came in six packs. But other than that, everything I've had from both breweries are phenomenal.

Pretty Things and Jacks Abby are reasonably priced- I don't recall seeing a bomber of Pretty Things for over $9. Jacks Abby pints are fairly priced. I could be incorrect about this, but the quality of these two breweries beers for the price is quite reasonable. I agree with the other posters that Weihenstephaner is a bargain. Beers from Ayinger are priced much higher.

I have paid $12-16 for bombers of beer which didn't match the quality of Jacks Abby and Pretty Things.

Hop Notch IPA cans, got a 12 pack for about $12

agree that "cheap" to me basically disqualifies anything sold in a bomber or large format. cheap to me is like $1.50 / 12 ounce or less

For overall quality and consistency in the product, ease of access, easy to find and read freshness dates, and a variety of styles I can recommend 2 breweries. Oskar blues and sixpoint. Everything I have had from both breweries has been excellent. And how can you go wrong with their prominent freshness dates? It's not a dollar a can, it's a little more.

local stores had sea hag for $8.79.
it's now back up to $9.99

local store had redhook ipa in a 22oz. bomber for $2.99 but they were old and gross. drain pour

stores have 203 and 860 by stony creek brewing (contracted out of thomas hooker) for $8.99 a six pack . the beer is gross even when its fresh. drain pour.

most things that are discounted are garbage and should be drain poured. I love drain pouring!!

I get FBS 4 packs for $8.99. That's my favorite beer at a price no one would turn down.

Most of the prices in this thread aren't what I consider "cheap." I think "cheap" beer has to roll in at under a buck a bottle/can, but that's just me.

Yuengling Black & Tan is a good cheap beer. If you want a case of something passable for under $20, this is it.

On hot days this summer I have been drinking Reissdorf Kolsch, basically a better version of what passes for light beer. As far as what is "cheap," everybody has their own definition but 500ml (~17oz) bottles are $3.99 which isn't Busch cheap but a lot less than much of what I typically buy.
