So Im trying to figure out if I'm not alone on this and hoping not to get flamed to death. Ha Ha.

My dilemma is I love all sorts of good craft beer all across the board. From Heady Topper & NN, I can even appreciate a good Hefe, Pils, Tripel or any German Lagers for that matter. but just cant seem to bring myself to enjoy stouts by any means, I've tried them all from the bottom Guinness (IMO) to the top KBS. Oatmeal, Milk, Coffee, Imperial I've giving them all a shot.

This brings me to my Question is there a specific variety of beer you just simply can not Drink.
Please no BMC posts ( ha ha ) admit it some of us are snobs.

I found stouts much easier to get into than IPA's. Any style thats got a lot of hop bitterness will be harder for me to drink. Also saisons with that funky yeast smell and taste.

Can't stand Hefe, or any beer with the bubblegum/banana flavor.

Everyone has different tastes. I love stouts and porters, but hate sours. I don't get their allure. They taste god awful to me. I keep trying new ones, but just can't find one that makes me want to drink the whole glass.

I love that brett funk, all you funky beer haters can send em this way.
I'll throw my hat in with over the top one dimensional beers, crème brulee being the number one example and dry dock vanilla porter being second. Both are just overwhelming with the vanilla, its just gross.

the hardest for me has been barleywines, but I dont think that this will be the case forever.

I believe its all about palate development. In some cases your palate may develop very quickly to a style (and there may be no buffer time at all) but with other styles I think it just may be a much longer process.

Some will chose to push through until the enjoy and appreciate a style that was "difficult" for them at first, and some would rather not waste their time trying to "make" themselves like something.

Since I am so early on in my beer advocacy, I am trying to really broaden my expanse of beers and styles I enjoy. I hated stouts at first, but now I always have to make a difficult decision between an Old Rasputin and some tasty belgian or IPA in my fridge (and its become a difficult choice!)

I enjoy porters and stouts, but if I were forced to rank by favorite style they would not be toward the top of my list. I don't care for Black IPA or Black Saison. I liked Wooky Jack, but frankly if I never was able to have it again I would be totally ok with that.

Overly smoked beers are about the only thing I can't get into.

Long Trail Batch #1 smoked IPA was so bad

I like stouts they are chocolatey but like KBS, and other heavy coffee flavored stouts I don't like. Also sours aren't that great either.

    I have yet to come across a style I don't like...*shrugs*

    EDIT:

After reading through the comments, I will say that I have yet to try a Smoked beer...but I like peaty Scotches...so I'm fairly confident I would enjoy one.
