I wasn't lamenting anything, nor was I criticizing anything. Just found it humorous that he posted that right before this announcement. But you really got me there with that NY comment. I am stirring right now.

I do miss the old days. But that's like saying that I miss my childhood...

Just remember... When in doubt, make it a party.

Kudo's to trying something different, though this makes not getting tickets to the anniversary party sting just a little more.

+1 for silent releases or buy online and pickup within a 2 week window with no proxy's or distributing them locally.

    Can't sell online.
Silent releases and shelf space destroyed us during Tragedy and Norma.
If we distributed locally the cost would be well over 20$ for a 10$ (retail) bottle.
Managing/storing for pickup by 500+ different people would be a logistical nightmare... We have no storage space!

Love the prospect of a Cambridge/Hill Farmstead collabo. Will makes some of the most underrated sour beers in the country.

Anna ran out - and I missed it because the Taylor Road sign was missing - but The Welcome to Glover sign was still up.

Is there some law about this?

Maybe, but what's the difference? It puts the person at the mercy of servers and internet connections. If the purchasers are going to have to drive to the Hill to pick the bottles up regardless, is waiting in line really that big of a deal?

Not saying you were advocating one method or another, but online sales leave too much to be desired in my opinion...

wondering why you thought the silent releases didn't work out? I was there the Wednesday Norma was released, and other than waiting out in the snow storm for 25min, it was actually a great release. Bottles lasted at least 2 weeks it seemed.

Ah, if only the act 250 process wasn't so onerous!

I'd take $20 in a store (vs $10 at the retail shop) if it saved the 2 hrs in line and 2.5hrs in the car, especially when talking only 1-2 bottles.

How was Juicy released? That was around for awhile too. I thought that release went very well.

My mom sold my childhood at flea markets and yard sales. Sounds like I have a name for my next homebrew.

Not sure about the actual release, but I think it was like Norma - Mid week silent release. I made it up a few weeks after it was released and it was still on the shelves so it definitely lasted

Those days are over - courtesy of BA and RB. And we are all part of it, so time to man up and deal with it - including us locals.
