Get Mitten-fisted at Pracna on Main!

Fuckin awesome event. Tons of heady beer, kind staff, and reps giving me free shit! Even hit up my boy Yamar68 after 6 who made it in time for BA 9000. Cheers PoM, well done!!

I popped my BB 9000 cherry and it ruined me. It was one of those beers that makes everything else taste worse by comparison. It made black note seem underwhelming, and I love black note. Wow. I will be chasing this from now on.

2nd, cherry popped: bolt cutter. Again, probably the best barleywine ive ever had

3rd I got to try a 2009 KBS (thanks Daryl!) and we both agreed 2009 KBS < fresh KBS. It was amazing and chocolatey. the bourbon and coffee fell off and I miss that.

Overall great time!

 

Great event. 5oz pours were enough and if it wasn't you could order a second. Midweek meant lots of people didn't go. Had plenty of good stuff and a great meal. I'll be back soon.

Agree with everything said in this post but would also add; Better Half was amazing. 2009 Nemesis was great. Some of the others would have been wonderful too had it not been for the top shelf stuff. A great night of beer drinking!

So annoyed that I missed the Pracna event. Sounds like it was a great turn out. Props to Pracna for their management of what otherwise could have been a cluster f____.

Agree with MCImes that BA 9000 ruins me for almot everything including Black Note.

If anyone has a bottle of BA 9000 they want to trade my cellar is open for the picking and my west coast mule services are open for requests.

 

Amazing event, had a great time, and finally got to try BA Batch 9000. Unlike some, I still prefer Black Note though, 9000 was sweeter than I prefer in my stouts, although it was still wonderful.

 

Echoing everyone's comments on what a super event this was. Everything I tasted was top notch - 2009 KBS, 2009 Nemesis, 2011 Expedition Stout, BA Batch 9000, Bolt Cutter, Black Note.

 

Has anybody mentioned yet what a great event this was? Even pacing, small pours and drinking water non-stop, it is a challenge to stay ahead of 10% - 15% beers, but I was still able to hit every beer that was on my list. BA Batch 9000 was sinfully good, but I still walked away impressed with what a drinkable accomplishment Black Note really is. That would be my desert island pick.

Also, it was very good meeting some new (to me) BAs and the staff at Pracna was really on top of things and made it a comfortable and fun time.

 

Sounds like a good time and things handled right. Bummer I missed it. Thursdays seem like a good time for something like this; enough people who are itching for the weekend coming out but not the weekend masses that the establishment may not be able to handle.

I know Batch 9000 (and I certainly would have partook) was the big draw but I could drink Black Note and Better Half until I fall down and love every drop.

 

I actually put Better Half & Black Note ahead of Batch 9000 last night.
Better Half was amazing!

Bolt Cutter was good as well, just not in the same field

 

Last night was my first time at Pracna... didn't have any idea what to expect and wow I was impressed.

Incredible location, incredible tap list, great staff, surprisingly easy parking, very reasonable pricing... I'll be back soon, without a doubt. Thanks for an awesome time last night!

 

Awesome to hear that there may be some of the goodness left as I will be in the neighborhood tomorrow around lunchtime. I think I may stop by.
