Gonna try to make it for this one. About time I sample some more of Kane's stuff, being 15 minutes away...

Just to share, those that couldn't make it to the Harvest Moon release release really missed out. I've had ANTEAD from Kane before and enjoyed it but the HM beer was a serious contender if not the winner between the two.

Doesn't look like Ill be able to make the trip today. Anyone making it down there from NYC who wouldn't mind grabbing an extra bottle or two of ANTEAD? I can repay the favor with cash and/or beer! Thanks!

Anyone have any idea as to bottle/case counts of ANTEAD?

I believe approx 3500 bottles based on what I overheard today, there were no limits at the brewery. Not sure how much will be released for distribution.

So...how was it today? Mob scene? People going nuts buying a case at a time?

Kane's not open tomorrow are they? Had, had, had to do some work around the house today. Working late next Friday and all day Saturday. Any chance this hangs around 2 more weeks? Impressions from day 3 of the draft? Anyone know a good gazpacho recipe? What's this thing on my back?

Sorry just cuz I stayed home working today doesn't mean I didn't drink like, I dunno, 7 beers by now. Cracked my only Dark Lord, figured today was probably the right day, god what a syrupy sweet mess that was...sugar shock in full effect.

Nothing crazy at all, was a decent crowd:

    • Sorry, they are closed tomorrow
    • It could last a couple weeks and also will be limited distribution
    • Birds drafted another QB with a noodle arm...suspect Chip Kelly is thinking of running the wing T (good thing I am a Redskins fan)
    • Don't know about the Gazpacho
    • That thing on your back? I don't know...Aliens?
    • Sorry about your Diabetus...

Oh and I am breaking in to my first bottle of ANTEAD...the barrel character in this one is immense. Going to see how it opens up as it warms.

Yeah, the ANTEAD bottles are drinking brilliantly right now. I am so very happy to have a case. Tons of barrel, dry enough to reveal all the complexities throughout the life of a warming glass - and complexities, there are many. We picked up everything from raisin to licorice.

So there's not any overcarbonation? Was a little bit worried about that after Malus/365. I think I'm going to head down next Saturday to visit Kane and Carton and grab a few bottles.

Talked to Mike about that too; he said they were very careful with the bottle conditioning on these. Having opened one last night, I can tell you there's just a gentle "pop" of the cork, and the low-to-moderate carbonation you'd expect in a 13% BBA imperial stout.

If you don't get any Steve, I'll hook you up with a bottle. They said yesterday they will have a list of stores this week (4/29-5/5) with distribution to begin next week (5/6-5/12)

Had to clarify dates for people who are idiots.

Nice, saw the list. Got a bottle earlier today, 1 per person. Want to try to nab another to age some.

Does anybody know their growler fill policy? I need another growler like I need a hole in the head, but will get a new one if they don't fill non-Kane branded growlers.

They'll fill non-Kane growlers, no problem. At one point a while back they weren't allowed to but that changed again. The empty Kane growlers are $5 for a twist cap and $12 for the new flip top.

I believe that they also only fill 64 oz. growlers if you bring your own. I was there some time ago and saw that they wouldn't fill a 32 oz. that someone brought with them.
