Dogfish Head Bitches Brew. Me and a buddy have been wanting to try this beer for close to 4 years when I found it at one of my local bottle shops. It was expensive $14.99 a bottle but I knew I may never see it again so I picked up two bottles. Had the first one last night and was completely underwhelmed. It really tasted like a watered down stout to me, I could barely taste any honey, and this beer just lacked a full body. It was decent but for the price I can think of a lot of better beers that I would rather enjoy. I think I will be aging my other bottle for at least a year.

I will be avoid dogfish head brews until further notice seeing as that none of the beers I have had from them have wowed me yet.

    The "Highly Acclaimed" KBS.

Good beer, but did not blow me away as anticipated.

KBS- It bugs me but i just don't like it
Hopslam- The problem for me is it seems so..pineapple-y...i don't like pineapple.

Regarding all the people mentioning Dark Lord. I had last years a day after the event and didn't like it, i'm not sure if i was expecting something else and just wasn't in the mood for all the port/figginess of that beer. Anyways I just tried a 2011 and I was blown away and now i have the yearning for more, which is dangerous.

It always amuses me when someone states "Well, Beer B shouldn't be ranked #x." So, somehow your palate is more important than the general consensus of beer fans?

I don't know if it's highly acclaimed, but Sexual Chocolate was disappointing. There are plenty of standard off-the-shelf RIS that destroy it.

    Highly acclaimed?

It's not "super hyped" per se, but it is definitely highly acclaimed. Often considered one of the best year round RIS's and a BA user rating of 4.31 isn't too shabby.

Wehenstephaner did that to me. It was good, but not the best hefe. I found Franziskaner and Tucher even better.

Hopslam was just plain bad this year, sold all of mine except one six pack and I only drank two of those. Something was just off with this years batch, it wasn't even a decent beer. Lagunita's Sucks was a much better beer, Stone I generally don't love but all of the Enjoy By beers have been amazing so far. In the future I won't waste the time and energy on Hopslam, Suck's and Nugget Nectar are much cheaper, easier to find and as of this year way better.

    Nugget Nectar for sure.

I enjoyed it, absolutely. But a top 50 beer? No way in the world.
