After some positive responses to my post about a possible local bottle share in the Doom in DC thread, I'm going to go ahead and host one in the "great room" of my apartment building right in the middle of Clarendon.

    What: Bottle sharing!
    When: Saturday, June 8, @ 2PM.
Where: The Reserve at Clarendon Centre. 3000 Washington Blvd. Arlington, VA 22201.
My apt. building is 1-2 blocks straight south of the Clarendon metro. Across the street from Lyon Hall/Mister days. The Great Room is on the main lobby floor as soon as you walk in. I'll have the concierge help you guys out if needed.

I posted a Google spreadsheet so you can add your name and what you're bringing so we don't bring too much of the same beer. You're welcome to bring your own tasting glass, but I'll have some solo cups available. You're welcome to bring food as well, I'll put out some bags of pretzels.

One caveat: It is possible to "reserve" the Great Room at $100/hour, but that's crazy. The room is open right now and if someone reserves it, the backup plan will be my apartment or the very large rooftop deck if it's not too hot out. I'll post at the latest on 6/7 if any of these changes are occuring.

You got to make the google doc public. Can't access it right now.

I'm not in the immediate area though I do visit my friend who lives right in Arlington quite a bit. I'll give him this thread to see if he's interested (big beer guy, just no BA account). I'd like to say I'll try to make it down, too, but that might be a stretch.

This sounds great. I will fill out what I am bringing as soon as I get home tonight. Cheers.

    Parking:

There are metered spots all over the building and around town, but it'll be a tough find. There are many parking decks in the neighborhood for pretty cheap and you can also find non-premit needed spots back in the neighborhoods south of my building.

The Great Room also has a full kitchen in case you are bringing food that needs to be heated up.

Awesome! Count me in (as of now I'm free, weddings [photography] sometimes get in the way). I'll add my name to the Google Doc and toss a couple beers on the list. This sounds great!

I'd say the hardywood. and iron throne. but that's just me.

really have no expectations for this as I've never been to a bottle share. just hoping it turns out well and maybe turn this into a regular/quarterly thing.

I'll double check tomorrow to make sure there are some left and report back. Headed there for the Rangers/Caps game around noon. Might just get one for myself but not a big sour fan.

Ah. Well the BCBS, BA Speedway, ZD, Dreadnaught, and EC 12 (off your wants) are staying at home this time - but maybe we can arrange a trade some day

I was lucky enough to try ZD/Dreadnaught at CK during CBC and Rustico for the Goose Island tap takeover. I had no idea how good the BCBS and BCCS (coffee stout) was going to be. I had a stigma against Goose because of their whole InBev thing, but those two and Big John were awesome.

Agreed. Although, I think I prefer BCBS to BCBCS. But I've heard Bourbon Sidamo is a nice alternative.. guess we'll find out soon enough! As for FFF, I'm still holding on to the last two ZDs and Gumballheads I traded for. Such good stuff!

And yeah, CBC was insane by the way. Managed to get into Churchkey on Monday, and had a bunch of CCB, Surly, and FW. It's definitely hard to come back to reality after that! :grimacing:

Hmm I dunno what FFF is and I think I might have actually liked the BCBS more than the BCBCS. Does Hardywood distribute outside of Richmond or do I need to make a trek down there just to get some bottles?

I should have my Zombie Dust clone on tap in my apt by this bottle share so I could use some constructive criticism for anyone interested in trying it.

Haha, "dude." Surprised you'd pick that over the Elijah Craig!

It's not lookin' like I can make it anyway :slight_frown: took my name off the list.
