Is it as cold as a witch's tit down there in England or it just here?
Either way, its a choice between a couple of Fyne beers, an imperial stout or something from Belgium. Decisions, decisions, decisions...

I saw a "new" label and blindly grabbed Sainbo's TtD Summer Ale and threw it in the trolley
had fanciful ideas of a William Bros beer brimming with fruity hops
just pulled it out its Shep Neame
opened it and there is the standard "Golden beer" B.O. aroma

It has been freezing right up till Yesterday here in Manchester
A couple of warmish days has made me less irritated that all the beers that I could find have been mostly Blonde & Golden

Tiny rebel beat box, fubar, full nelson, billabong, urban ipa, vader shuffle, np10, and another pale ale I forgot by them.

Just had absolutely stunning Full English with 3 types of sausage & 2 types of bacon
will have a nap and to assist this Wadworth Horizon

Am I being cynical but are brewer's using "Summer" "Golden" "Blonde" & "Zesty"
to produce very lacklustre beers cheaply that end up very similar to UK BMC lagers?

Inferno, is this what Shipyard were aiming for with their IPA?
Not quite there, quite tasty but somehow something is lacking.

Cracking on cask mind. God bless B&Ms! Just finishing a Citra, thought the NM was a bit of a muddle. I'll pick more up tomorrow, y'know, just to be sure.

    YeS!
I can see that adding the depth & complexity of taste to make whole.

I like that mix of styles with the NM

If anyone's interested, from the biershop bayern website:

    Dear beer lover,

Together with you we want to put a sign of European friendship,
especially during these days where the media is full of critical reports
    and crises.

Our European network of beer lovers is already working so well that we
were awarded with the “Golden beer-idea” for our national and
international commitment to the diversity of beer by the Bavarian
brewers association. This is a great motivation for us to present even
    more than 1000 different beers.

As a special gift, you get 10% discount on all beers during the
friendship weeks England and Bavaria with this promotion code:”EUROPE”.

    Kind beer friendship regards

    Artur Marienfeld

Gave the Keltek Natural Magik another go. Chilled it a little more to see if it stopped it gushing, it did but this time the head died in minutes. The beer was a damn sight murkier than before with none of the fruity hoppiness, just a one dimensional bitterness from start to finish. Even letting the remainder of the bottle warm up did little to improve it. The manky diabetic horse sample lurks within an arms length of me and I can't bring myself to drink anymore.
Apparently the recipe was made as a Taste The Difference pie ingredient, yeah well gravy is all its fit for.

Well either there are massive quality issues (I had a second bottle last night & though it wasn't the great ale I had with the first bottle it wasn't as bad as you have described)
or there is no accounting for (my) taste

Drinking Gravy.......now I've seen everything. I can die a happy man!

In other news, I've had 99 Red Baboons, Theakston's Masham Glory and am now on Weihenstephaner's Vitus.

Back to work tomorrow after a two week break :slight_frown:
