I've enjoyed Mr. B's, Mile High and Lukas on my Denver visits.

I vaguely remember a similar thread a while back when Domingo hit it spot on saying that Denver didn't have just one go-to store. Couldn't find the thread thanks to my rudimentary interwebs skills, but he pointed out that there are several great stores in this city to find several things. You can find most of what you're looking for by hitting the big ones - Mr. B's, Mile High, Argo, Lukas, CLM, Total Bev, etc. I would say most locals do have a go-to they don't like to share (eh Mebuzzard?).

I would check out Coaltrain in Colorado Springs. They have quite the selection, and the dinners they do from time to time are incredible.

For real. All I got was some old Green Flash IPA for spending $100. He said it tasted just like Pliny. While that's true, it doesn't mean that it tastes good. I feel bamboozled...

    (just kidding, duh)

I love Mr. B's and Scott, too, but there are definitely things that I've had to ask for.

Seconded on Coaltrain. Again, if you're looking for something specific, it's worth asking the staff if you don't see it on shelves.

Lukas, Davidsons, Tipsy's...all nice selections. As for Applejack? Overrated. Decent at best beer selection. Shop there if you're looking to buy liquor or wine.

Lukas posts their weekly beer arrivals on this site: http://coloradobeernews.blogspot.com/

Tipsy's usually keeps their ultra limited stuff (Pliny, Parabola, et al) hidden in the cooler, so you gotta ask for it.

There's only been one instance where I know Scott has held anything back. It was beers directly related to one of your famous threads  Usually you have to ask for some of the stuff that's been posted to Facebook that day simply because it hasn't made it into the cooler.

In comparison to a lot of places I've been and lived in we have a pretty great pool of stores here in Denver. I'm with a lot of you in that I don't necessarily have a favorite. I like different stores for different reasons. I find myself a frequent of Lukas, Davidsons, Heritage, Parker Payless, Cornerstar, and Libations. All quality places in my opinion, but then again you can see I live on the Southside. If I was farther north I'd hit up stores like Argonauts, Little's, Mile High, Mr. B's, Joy, etc. on a regular basis.

Anyone else have any shady interactions with Parker Payless? I just had my 2nd one this past weekend. I was content to chalk the first one up as an off experience but this 2nd one was a whole other level. I'm just curious as to if other people have had similar experiences of if the beer guys just hate me (which is entirely possible I guess).

I used to be able to by Pliny in CO, but it's really hard to find now. (Hell its hard to find in CA. I was in SF last month, had to drive to the brewery to buy it.) Good news is the Funkwerks, and Trinity. I just sent myself home a care package with some good stuff from these guys. Expensive though.

pliny not too hard to find if you know when it comes in. w/ the 1 per custy limit @ argonaut they keep it on the shelf for a bit longer - they still had it today and it came in last week.
