I walked into Parlor City, saw it in the cooler, and said "How much is Assassin?". "$30 ". "I'll take it". I found it odd that the BA's in CR were asleep to this location, knowing full well it was gone on the day it arrived everywhere else. Humble brag? Sure. Odd situation? You bet.

    Thank you!
I did pay more than the price I found to be outrageous in another thread. However, I will almost assuredly share it with the BA's I know in N.L., unless someone offers me a Mimosa!

There we go...that's all I was looking for. Your post made it seem like you showed up to some retailer and they just happened to have some. In that case, good find and well done. Didn't mean to come out with the pitchforks and torches. Like you said, odd situation and it sounded too good to be true.

How dare you not give him what he was looking for mattafett! :stuck_out_tongue:

I gotta say though clearly you don't find the price outrageous or you wouldn't have paid it. It can't be both ways, imo.

Can anyone tell me what type of goodies can be picked up at TG tomorrow? My BIL is heading through Decorah, and I convinced him to stop into TG, but not sure what I should have him get. Is there anything unique available in the brewpub? Any swag?

I would hope they still have bottles of Sosus and didn't send it all up to Madison. For sure get a growler filled. They have a glass deal where you can buy the glass you're drinking out of (it has a TG logo on it). They have pretzels on the tables?

As of Sunday when I was down there, they still had Sue, & a good amount of Sosus left. Whatever you want to pick up, double that amount. Those 2 are both THAT good. A growler or 2 would also be in your best interest. Golden Nugget in a growler. Hope he has a big cooler. Ice can get purchased right across the street at Casey's too.

As far as merch, they have logo pint glasses, & black TG shirts.

Yup, I walked in there the other day and saw a few bottles sitting in the cooler. They also had bottles of Naughty Temple for a while after it was released. Also saw a bottle of Founder's/Green Flash Linchpin sitting in there.

They wouldn't sell me any Naughty Temple. On site consumption only. As far as trading goes, it is a hard sell. People are not interested in a ~$30 ipa.

I wish they would do some more swag. I would kill for a TG work shirt and a sticker for my beer fridge.

You are correct......we are trying to grow the swag department. Work shirts on order. Last time we had them they lasted too long so we just bought hops instead.

    Cheers!

Had Millenium Falcon at Red's today. It was horrible. Tastes of butter. I asked about the cleanliness of the line and was assured that it was pump cleaned by Red's and static cleaned by TG themselves. Hugely disappointing. I have a growler trade in the works and was excited this was on. It will not be going out

Drank a bomber of Sosus last night for the coast to coast ACBW toast. What great taste from the mosaic hops. Also had Dorothy on Sunday. Macro brewers have nothing on this lager. Clean, balanced, and easy to drink. Keep it up TG. Sue is still my favorite that I've had. Looking forward to trying more.

Sorry you where disappointed. I went to Red's at 11 am yesterday and met my hop patrol there to see what was going on. I had them serve me a blind taste from the keg in question directly out of our keg and through the line. It was the same beer. I agree with you and was easily able to pick out, blind, which beer was from the line. I wish you would have done the test with me.

We hit the line again and I thought it was great after that. We appreciate the feedback and will be testing the line with periodically for micro-bacterial contamination.

In the mean time, we remind all you craft beer bars to keep your nipples on at night and when ever closed......it is fly and gnat season and they are big culprits. Also, servers need to insure the facet is clean and the glass they are pouring never touches the faucet.

Next time I am at Reds, for a terrific lunch, meet me and I'll buy you lunch and beers while we discuss beers!

    Thanks again for reaching out!

    Cheers.

    Clark
