Saranac is the Rodney Dangerfield of craft (at least here in BA world). They make some really good lighter ABV beers and also some boring/lame ones but most all of them are drinkable. I wish I could buy the ones I like in 6 or 12 pack quantity, but I usually only find them in the seasonal 12 pack samplers. Oh well, it makes it more of a treat when they come around again (and I save money too since they are cheaper than most other craft beers out there).

What this guy said. I picked up a case of Saranac's Trail Mix last weekend for a whopping $15, which I thought was a great price for their beers.

You have strength I just can't seem to muster, I can't stay away from craft beer... it's a burden I have to bear.

I literally wouldn't drink a free Saranac beer. Life is too short.

    I like it!

actually, Monday through Friday I only eat once a day so I have the calories for beer.

Depends on how he's doing it. The warrior diet and other iterations of intermittent fasting aren't all that different. I get the same feel you do, but with the caveat that he might know what he's doing.

Funny, I thought the pissing match was going to be because the OP implies that Saranac is not craft beer while Goose Island is. According to the BA, the opposite is actually true.

Depends on his diet & sleep schedule. This reminds me of the book Beer Is Proof That God Loves Us. After looking in people's grocery baskets in the checkout line he thinks to himself "my God, the beer is the only thing that's keeping these people alive!"

Last year I gave up beer for lent. After 40 days, beer never tasted so good. Sometimes you need to lay off a bit to fully appreciate something.

Thats why Saranac is great. They make solid beer - they don't knock it out of the park but the quality for the price is spot on. Give me some Adirondack Lager or Black Forest and I'm a happy camper.

I'd like to try doing this but don't think I could. 'Gansett's are all rite by me now and again but drinking them all the time would get boring quickly.

If I was cutting expenses I'd just drink water instead of shitty beer.

Again, not a doctor, but I know your body needs more than just X calories to work in optimum condition. But this is totally off topic, whatever floats your boat.

People might think I'm f'ed up but I once GAVE up beer for Lent. Lent is all about giving up what you LOVE right? I wasn't sure I could do this. If I couldn't.....that's kind of a problem. It was hard but worth it because at the end because beer tasted sooooooo good! My B-day happens in the middle of Lent, that day I ordered a cream soda at a brewpub :flushed:
On the plus side, my wife was so proud of me and we saved a lot of money.
