...although, if I knew where the trucks were, I'd chase them.

To me, it's the antithesis of going into business. They have the relationships with distributors that us civilians technically can't because of 3-tier. They secure product - some pretty limited - because they can and then specifically tell non-regulars that they aren't allowed to purchase it despite having stock because they haven't blown their entire paychecks in the store before.

I can appreciate the thought that from me it's a few dollars profit vs. more from a "regular", but then why even tell non-regulars you have product in the first place? Shop owners in various lines of retail just pull product from their shipments before they sell to the public for themselves, friends, etc. I don't mind that so much because at least when the question of availability comes up, the answer is "no we've sold them all".

Ignorance is bliss in this case. Because you told me you have it but you won't sell it to me, that's hardcore douchebaggery. You're 100% right that I'll never be back there again. They don't deserve any more of my money.

All businesses reward loyalty, from free hotel rooms to free drinks at bars to reduced rates on goods. Should they advertise they do that? Maybe not but I get pretty annoyed when stores lie to me that they didn't get stuff like new beer did to me a few times. So what are they to do?

This proves how bad Nor Cal distribution is. That other states get it before before nor cal towns who get beer from Nor Cal. distro. They still say may 15 for auburn/roseville.

I found a lot of 2013 Parabola around Sonoma County, CA. I have 14 bottles and counting!

I'm getting up there. Almost to a case from just walking into local shops and picking up the one or two limit bottles. Though the first Whole Foods I went to that had it asked how many I wanted and the beer guy ended up giving me a half a case without batting an eye lash.

Guys, I have a question for you about this beer. We're only getting 1 case in. What's the fairest way to sell it? I've had 200+ calls on it, so a list is wouldn't work... I was thinking perhaps an email on the day, then first come first served. Thoughts or better ideas?

I've always appreciated an email going out about the sale and stating that it will begin being sold at, say, 7pm so that working folks can take part. I know it's tough to organize a store around that timing, but if you can swing it, I think it's quite fair

A drawing might be a good option. Distribute tickets for 1/2 an hour then draw 12 tickets at a set time. Assuming your shop can handle the number of customers milling about waiting. You could also do FCFS which nowadays might mean people lining up 3 hours ahead of time.

I spoke with a bottle shop owner who had some last week. I can really sympathize with the problems these smaller stores go through with limited releases like with Parabola (one case of bombers).

Really, I think the fairest thing to do is a first-come, first-served policy. Otherwise, you're just picking and choosing whom you want to do business with, and THAT really disappoints/pisses off way too many people.

If a shop owner is up front with the first-come, first-served policy, no one really has the right to be upset. You weren't there when the product was in stock? Well, what can you do. Maybe next time. It is only beer after all--not an organ transplant.

Those are hospitality or service type businesses...not retail outlets. Apples to oranges IMO. I can't tell you what to do with New Beer. It's your prerogative to keep buying or stop shopping with them all together.

You want something to be pissed off at? Go ask Beer Pantry for a bottle of Parabola. $30!!! Or you could grab a Capt. Lawrence Rosso e Marrone for $34.99. They're charging at least a 100% markup, bullshit......
