Was the Cantillon only for the VIP or did I miss it by being 15 minutes late?

Also, call me crazy, but I didn't like anything I had from Flat12. I poured out everything I tried from them. They tasted very odd to me. Maybe it was all the sours messing with my palate, but they just tasted nasty. With all the hype in this thread, I looked forward to trying them. Ends up, they were very forgettable. Just my opinion (and shared by the group I was with).

    Lol.

Did you ask her for the special bottle she brought that was under the table?

The Starlight table? Yeah, passed by there several times. Definitely missed it.

Flat 12 also had their collab with ATG. We Spelt it Wrong. I really liked the Funk o dile. Cutters Sour Brown and the Cuvee from Black Acre I thought were the worst beers I tried.

You're missing Laughing Dog's offering. For the life of me I couldn't tell how it was pronounced. That, Porch Felix and Upland Cherry Lambic were the best things I had all day.

I was shocked by how good that Felix was....didn't expect that one at all.

Were Sun Kings offerings as bad as they were last year? If so, they probably shouldn't be invited back.

Edit: Oh, and Bell's should be banned too for bringing only Oarsman 2 years in a row. Come on Caleb, set some standards. However, the overall selection looks much improved.

And its not bottled, or even distributed. Festival beer only.

I liked Stupid Sexy Flanders and Brett and the Family Funk (100% Brett Wee Mac). Pink Taco was alright, my buddy thought it tasted buttery, I didnt get that though.

He didn't have anything to do with brewery inquiries/invitations. But he had everything to do with Sour Reserve Batch 3...and I thank him.

My best were the SR3, Perennial's White Grape, the DeStihl stuff (4.5 year old barrel of framboise especially), and the Rivertown Pomegranate (most surprising beer of the day). By far the worst for me was Triton's Sour Monks...it tasted like a quad with mint shampoo mixed in. I felt like the overall quality of the beers offered was a lot higher this year than last, but there were some duds. I also really preferred the food setup last year, though this was better for "pairings" I guess. By the end of the day when I was getting hungry, some of the cheeses and fruits were getting kinda gross. At the end of the day, I gotta say I had a pretty good time and I didn't have an assplosion or otherwise brownout a pant leg, so any complaints are minimal.

As of 5:23 pm Friday, the Wheeling location of Muncie Liquors still had bottles, they were $20, and though you live in Muncie, you seem confused about the geography. You may have purchased $10 bottles at the Friendly Package on Jackson, you may have purchased them at the Muncie Liquors on Wheeling, but the fucking FACTS I have at my disposal are the Wheeling store of MUNCIE LIQUORS still had bottles available Friday evening and the cost was $20. Unless my father-in-law is lying, clinging tightly to his story for reasons unrelated to Beer Advocate tomfoolery (This could bring shame on an entire family and cause him to toil in eternal hellfire, right? Being a fucking liar?). It seems the whole thing was reasonably explained as distributor error elsewhere. Why am I even arguing or even commenting? I asked him to stop and check. He did. He relayed information. I just asked him again, confirmed the details above, end of story.

Anytime you preface something with "no offense," realize the person in question is probably going to be offended or at least mildly irritated with the bullshit that follows those words. No offense. Don't tell me it's raining when you're pissing down my neck.

At least put some peaches or something into the Oarsman if it's going to be your only large offering.

We killed it at around 4:30. Most places ran out of beer long before the end.

The fact that so many places ran out early was disappointing. Perennial was out by 3ish, I think. Surely they'd been informed how many tickets had been sold, right? Bring enough beer for the event or don't even bother. I totally understand the popular or timed beers running out due to limited quantities but to have everything packed in by 4:00 is fucking amateur, man. And the running-outs wasn't necessarily reflective of quality, either. Upland was still pouring Sour Reserve up to 5:00 and DeStihl had plenty of beer left. Pro gear/pro attitude.

I believe we were out of there by 3pm, so we missed some of the later pours, but that was probably the best atmosphere I've been in for a beer festival.

Veronica looked more bored at that table than all the nights Jughead opted to finish himself off with Asian teen pr0n instead of her hot box combined.
