I liked Fat Jack a lot - think I polished off 3 bottles myself! :stuck_out_tongue: Not as good as Schlafly Pumpkin, or my favorite pumpkin beer hands down, O'Fallon Pumpkin Ale (THIS GUY agree with me)

But I'm willing to give the Pumkinhead a try, side by side with Pumking

I believe E1G still has Fat Jack, they at least had the other Sam Adam's release when I stopped in yesterday

Fat Jack didn't make it into Austin, and when CBC finally found their ass with both hands, they pushed out Merry Mischief and the rest of the limited lineup.

I heard that CBC got a call from Sam Adams corporate explaining how important it was that they distribute their seasonals here after they didn't distro Fat Jack (and apparently a LOT of people complained)

I loved Fat Jack. Not my favorite pumpkin beer, but it's a solid spiced one.

My favorite is Cigar City Good Gourd.

This is quoted for the truth.

    Such a good spiced beer!

Why is it that no Texas breweries to a pumpkin ale? I found that extremely odd coming from the northeast where everyone and their dog brews a pumpkin beer

    I think you a word

Pumpkinator is the finest pumpkin beer I've had so far. My 2nd favorite is DFH Punkin Ale. Out all of all I tried so far, those are the only two I liked. I want to try Pumking.

Parallel 49 makes the best pumpkin beer I've had. Great name too: Schadenfreude. They nail the graham note, perfectly balanced spice, and good pumpkin flavor. Not as sweet nor as high an ABV as Pumking, which is also great.

    Very fond of Pumpkinator too.

I'm curious as to how you'd describe pumpkin flavor. I love cooking, and haven't noticed pumpkin having much flavor itself, but is great for adding spices/flavors to compliment the pumpkin's texture.

I also did a pumpkin homebrew last year. Turned out disgusting. It's tough to get the spice ratio down just right.

I liked Pumking a lot at Ananke Day. Alex and I are going to get some at Draught House tomorrow, hopefully.

Your typo makes the first part of this reply incredibly confusing.

Yes pumpkinator which is a pumpkin stout. Its a great great beer. And unique.

Krunkin was released last year for the first time in Houston only correct?

Ok so that's two beers that have only been around for two years. I think maybe maybe circle or thirsty planet MAY have done one last year also. But still thats just surprising compared to other places where its abundant. Anyhow just an observation.

I was making an attempt at humor since your OP I quoted seemed to be missing a word, thus "you a word".

Forgot Krunkin. I loved that beer too! I really hope Karbach makes it again this year.
