London. I saw them all at the Tiny Rebel bar takeover last week, they do have crazy beards, weirdly enough. They looked like either hipsters (perhaps their beards were ironic?) or metalheads.

The beer was good, but perhaps a bit heavy on caramel malt for a 5% pale ale.

Just had a 2009 Cantillon kriek with a Lamb Rogan Josh. SO FUCKING GOOD. South-Asian spices on meat really bring out the fruit component of lambics, it's astounding.

Actually I just noticed it says on the bottle cap "all beard... no sandals"

All beard - I guess that says it all. Wonder how long a hipster brewery will last?

Now I'm on a Bacchus Kriek. Hardly the pinnacle of beer consumption, but I do like cherry....

    On a slightly different line
What would be the easiest Sour beer to acquire in the U.K.?

In bottle or on tap? For the latter, Brodies' Berliner Weisse is fairly ridiculous.

    Otherwise I'd say this: [IMG]

Edit: Sorry, I just re-read what you wrote. The easiest proper sour beer to get a hold of would probably be Lindeman's Cuvee Rene.

Not sure about this. A couple of supermarkets offer lambics, but only the commercial ones that aren't good.

Booths sells Liefmans Cuvee (Oude Bruin with cherries - not a lambic). In fact it's on sale at the moment. Personally I highly recommend this beer, it's deliciously moreish.

Otherwise - get thee to a decent beer shop or the interwebz....

The beer is worth a try so hopefully it's onwards and upwards for them!

Onto Partizan Pale Ale Columbus Cascade - excellent stuff, and Hacker-Pschorr STernweisse, also really nice. First proper session for a week, I feel right once again

    St Austell HSD - ok
Homebrewed bitter, loosely based on ye olde recipe - good
homebrewed AIPA - not enough hops, more of a sweet, strong APA

poured a can of Cain's dark mild into a dimpled pint pot & put a burned pork sausage into a totally different sized finger roll to recreate that crap pub barbecue

Tempted by Axe Edge after my exam today but oddly no bottle date or bbd visible so didn't want to risk a crappy bottle. Went for this new Otley imperial porter and Moor Illusion black ipa. Also a half of brains craft Dr.rudi. no world beater but the best yet really.

Kicking off the weekend with a Hooky bitter.

Is that named after the hop variety they used? I had a similarly named brew from Arbor ales a while back.....

Yep one of their single hop beers I believe. Not the most potent hop in the world it seems.

Just opened a To Ol Baltic Frontier, lots of scum on the neck just under the cap, and floating on top of the beer. Managed to get it off with a rolled up bit of kitchen towel. Not hopeful though, extremely cloudy and tons of sediment. Oh well, fingers crossed.
