I was planning on something a bit lighter tonight, but this looked good plus I don't want the coffee to fade too much. Very tasty beer. The base beer is present while coffee accents the natural roastiness of the stout, however the dark fruit notes don't come through as strongly as they do with Worthy Adversary (the base beer). War and Peace is an excellent pairing with Pete's Caved Aged Blue Cheese and Kissel's Plum and Tarragon spiced jam. Cheers all!

2013 Old Stock Ale, drinking very well indeed.

Here's a vid I was reminded of earlier in this thread. If you decide to listen to this I promise it is some pretty messed up stuff. Enjoy  -

Homebrewed American Blonde Ale aged on White Wine soaked French Oak from Hessian257:

A - Hazy honey gold body stuffed with fine lines of beading... a lively looking beer. That finger of paper white head retains incredibly well, producing thick blankets of lace on every side of the glass.

S - Very inviting on the schnoz. Yeasty clove aromas meld with sharp white grape, honey, pear and apple, earthy peat and oak, rather dry, smooth. Mellow yet dynamic.

T - It's got the easy-drinking nature of an American Blonde without excluding the bold contribution of white wine and fresh oak. The result is a semi-sweet apple and white grape flavor profile with a dry oak finish. Crisp. Thirst-quenching. Very tasty.

    4.25 / 5

Thanks a ton, Dave! I can't wait to try your other work.

    Cheers BA!

Very cool that it did...a beer enthusiast working in the industry, sounds like a good combo for success and a reason to roll out of bed every morning looking forward to the day!

No pic tonight, but a Deschutes Brauler filled with Toppling Goliath Zeelander...I've had 2 pours thus far, about to make it a third while I mess with backing up my phone to do a reset, and then root it again...

Bells Oberon to finish the night beerwise, then possibly a finger or two of Buffalo Trace Bourbon to finish the night.
