Some refreshed reviews and pics tonight. So far:

Super delicious. Balanced yet still very hoppy with great hop flavor complexity. Dangerously smooth drinking.

Really damn nice stuff. More of a spicy/dry gueuze with light acidity, but wild yeast can impart whatever it feels like so it's all good.

1.25 years old right now. Straight up awesome stuff. Was feeling a B-wine tonight and this hit the damn spot perfectly. Great complexity and balance of hops and malt after moderate age. I think the oak does a great thing on this, fantastic brew.

Killer!! It's all about cellaring correctly. This monster has the hops but in a subdued way. Alcohol is still there as well. Bigfoot is a damn appropriate name for this. Elusive.......yet real.

Thatsa double fist pump right there and if I had more arms it would be a multi-fist pump! Great beer and a kick butt band, there's everything to like about this. (LOVE Texas Hippie.)

Started with a bottle of Enjoy By which was stellar.

Currently having my first Duck Rabbit Rabid Duck Russian Imperial Stout. A tattoo client of mine brought me a 6 pack as a tip since he knows I like beer.

The downside is, I think this may be my first encounter with an infected beer. I've often wondered if I'd ever really know if I encountered one, but this is the first time I've ever tasted a stout & the first thing that jumped out at me was "sour" :slight_frown: Kind of a bummer because it's rare that I get clients that are thoughtful enough to bring me gifts as tips & I want to enjoy it.

I keep thinking this tastes just like Red Chair. So I go and get a Red Chair.

One's a lager and the other is a pale ale, but shit, I can't think of two beers that are so similar in characteristic than these two. Same maltyness, sweetness, and hoppyness. The Red Chair was more aromatic and the Firebrick was a little more bitter, although the Red Chair is slightly past it's "Best By" date. Otherwise the similarities are uncanny.

    Both are awesome, regardless.

Eclipse aged in Heaven Hill barrels tonight. It's a good barrel-aged stout, though isn't worth the inflated price. Still, it's quite tasty and surprisingly under 10% (though it tastes about 12-14%).
