Yeah they do, but just like all BBA brews, it's seasonal :slight_frown:

I feel like 13 could really benefit from aging, while 12 was damn good as is.

Start off I love parabola, I had the past vintage, I enjoyed batch 2 and 3 right off the back. But batch 4 (2013) is a bit hot, too much heat, alcohol bitterness is just overwhelming .. I hope it will improve with aging, fingers crossed..

Anyone else come across the same thing I did regarding 2013 parabola??

Please send all your Parabola '13 to me for proper burial as I doubt it will improve

I thought it a little hot too. With that being said, I agree with Greywulfken, best year yet!

I wouldn't necessarily say Parabola '13 is hotter than previous years, but it is definitely more bitter than I remember. Still a magnificent beer, though.

I haven't had 2013 yet but have always preferred Parabola with a year of age on it.

Same goes for NJ. What the heck is taking so long for it to get to the east coast??

When comparing last year to this year, shouldn't it be assumed that after a year, the '12 has mellowed out and is less bitter than compared to a fresh '13?

Anyone who is disappointed with that beer is just looking for something to be disappointed about. It should be considered a paragon of the style. IMHO, it's better than any other spirit barrel beer I've tasted, which would include the Abyss and a couple BCBS variants.

Was expecting it to be hot based on comments around here. Thought it was perfect out of the gate. Not as hot as 2012 was, just MO.

I liked both, but I thought this was much better and more balanced than the Older Visc. And half the price.

I agree that's an unfortunate markup in price, but after having tried it, I would happily drop a $20 on it to have a 2nd bottle.. Especially when comparing it to what you pay for/get with something like Older Viscosity or BA Old Rasputin.

The short answer: Really fucking good.

Probably the best BA beer I've ever had. Another A+ from FW
